Pune IT Executive Murder Case: Investigators Say Accused Couple Used Code Words to Plot Killing
Mumbai: Fresh developments have emerged in the investigation into the murder of Pune-based IT professional Ketan Aghawal (25).
Police have revealed that the two accused, Siya (20) and Chetan Chaurasia (22), allegedly communicated through coded language and hidden references while discussing the conspiracy behind the crime.
Investigators believe the pair deliberately avoided direct conversations in an attempt to conceal their plans.
During the probe, officials found that the accused reportedly used specific code words while exchanging messages.
According to the police, these coded conversations are now being treated as an important piece of evidence to establish the planning behind the alleged murder.
Investigators claim the communication pattern indicates that the conspiracy had been carefully thought out in advance.
Police also informed the court that the investigation has taken a new turn after identifying another woman believed to be connected to accused Chetan Chaurasia.
Officials suspect that this individual may possess information relevant to the case, making her statement crucial to the ongoing investigation.
Seeking additional time for the inquiry, the prosecution requested an extension of the accused persons’ police custody before Judicial Magistrate First Class P. S. Mingde.
The prosecution argued that investigators still need to examine the mobile phone data and fully decode the meaning of the alleged coded conversations exchanged between the accused.
The defence opposed the request, contending that the police had already been given sufficient time to complete the investigation and that further custodial interrogation was unnecessary.
Defence counsel maintained that no additional grounds existed to justify extending police custody.
After hearing both sides, the court accepted the prosecution’s submissions and granted the investigating agency more time.
The magistrate directed that Siya and Chetan Chaurasia remain in police custody until July 16, extending their remand by 14 days to facilitate further investigation.

मुंबई: पुणे के आईटी पेशेवर केतन अग्रवाल (25) की हत्या की जांच में नया खुलासा सामने आया है। पुलिस के अनुसार मामले के दोनों आरोपी सिया (20) और चेतन चौरेसिया (22) कथित तौर पर हत्या की साजिश से जुड़ी बातचीत सीधे शब्दों में नहीं करते थे।
जांच एजेंसियों का कहना है कि दोनों एक-दूसरे से संकेतों और विशेष कोड शब्दों के जरिए संवाद करते थे ताकि उनकी योजना किसी की नजर में न आए।
जांच के दौरान पुलिस को ऐसे डिजिटल संवाद और संदेश मिले हैं, जिनमें कथित रूप से सांकेतिक भाषा का इस्तेमाल किया गया था। अधिकारियों का मानना है कि यही कोडेड बातचीत इस मामले में अहम साक्ष्य बन सकती है और इससे यह समझने में मदद मिलेगी कि कथित साजिश किस तरह तैयार की गई थी।
तफ्तीश आगे बढ़ने के साथ पुलिस ने अदालत को बताया कि आरोपी चेतन चौरेसिया से जुड़ी एक अन्य युवती की पहचान हुई है। जांचकर्ताओं का कहना है कि इस महिला से पूछताछ मामले के कई महत्वपूर्ण पहलुओं पर प्रकाश डाल सकती है, इसलिए उसका बयान जांच के लिए आवश्यक माना जा रहा है।
इसी आधार पर अभियोजन पक्ष ने न्यायिक मजिस्ट्रेट प्रथम श्रेणी पी. एस. मिंगडे की अदालत में आरोपियों की पुलिस हिरासत बढ़ाने की मांग की। सरकारी पक्ष ने दलील दी कि मोबाइल फोन से प्राप्त डिजिटल सामग्री की विस्तृत जांच और कथित कोड शब्दों का वास्तविक अर्थ समझना अभी बाकी है।
दूसरी ओर, बचाव पक्ष ने पुलिस की मांग का विरोध करते हुए कहा कि जांच एजेंसी को पहले ही पर्याप्त समय दिया जा चुका है और अब आगे की पुलिस हिरासत की कोई आवश्यकता नहीं है। उनका तर्क था कि अतिरिक्त रिमांड के लिए पर्याप्त आधार मौजूद नहीं हैं।
दोनों पक्षों की दलीलें सुनने के बाद अदालत ने अभियोजन की मांग स्वीकार कर ली। न्यायालय ने जांच पूरी करने के लिए सिया और चेतन चौरेसिया की पुलिस हिरासत 16 जुलाई तक बढ़ाते हुए उन्हें 14 दिन की अतिरिक्त रिमांड पर भेजने का आदेश दिया।
