Ram Mandir Trust Invites Applications for First CEO, Moves to Strengthen Temple Administration After Donation Row
In a landmark administrative initiative, the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has announced the recruitment of its first-ever Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to oversee the functioning of the Ram Mandir complex in Ayodhya.
The move is being seen as a major step towards introducing a more professional management structure following the recent controversy surrounding the alleged embezzlement of temple donations.
An official notification was released by the Trust on its social media platform X on Monday, inviting eligible candidates to apply for the post. Applications will be accepted until July 18.
According to the eligibility criteria, applicants must be between 50 and 70 years of age, hold a graduate degree, and possess at least 20 years of experience in senior administrative or managerial roles in a large public institution, government department, organisation, or corporate body.
Preference will be given to candidates who have previously served as the chief administrative officer of a prominent temple.
The Trust has specified that candidates must be practising Hindus. It has also been stated that devotees of Lord Ram belonging to the Vaishnava tradition would receive additional preference during the selection process.
The selected candidate will be appointed on a contractual basis for a period of three years.
As the head of the temple’s executive administration, the CEO will be entrusted with the overall management, daily operations, and efficient functioning of the Ram Mandir complex.
The officer will work under the overall supervision of the Trust and report directly to its General Secretary.
The appointment process comes shortly after the Trust accepted the resignations of General Secretary Champat Rai and trustee Anil Mishra in the wake of the recent donation-related controversy.
Trustee Krishna Mohan is presently discharging the responsibilities of interim General Secretary.
Highlighting the need for institutional reforms, Ram Temple Construction Committee Chairman Nripendra Misra recently said the Trust was focusing on strengthening its administrative framework.
He remarked that the recent incident had underscored the importance of improving temple management so that similar allegations could be prevented in the future.
To ensure a transparent selection process, the Trust has constituted a three-member screening committee that will scrutinise all applications and prepare a shortlist of suitable candidates.
Formed on July 6, the panel comprises retired judge Pramod Kohli, retired Lieutenant General Vishnukant Chaturvedi and former NIT Raipur Chairperson Suresh Haware.
After the screening process is completed, the Trust will select the new CEO from a final panel of three shortlisted candidates.
Although speculation has been circulating over the possible appointment of a woman to the position, the Trust has made no official announcement in this regard.
Significantly, the eligibility notification does not impose any restriction on women applicants.
Officials associated with the Trust said the CEO would play a vital role in transforming the Ram Mandir into a globally recognised pilgrimage destination by ensuring efficient governance, transparency, accountability and high standards of public service.
Key Responsibilities of the CEO
The Chief Executive Officer will oversee every aspect of the temple’s administration, including financial management, operational planning, and the functioning of affiliated institutions.
A major responsibility will be to ensure seamless darshan arrangements, effective crowd regulation, and improved facilities for devotees arriving from different parts of India as well as overseas.
The CEO will also coordinate closely with the Temple Construction Committee to monitor ongoing infrastructure projects, including the memorial complex, boundary wall, auditorium, and the proposed Ram Katha Museum.
Another critical responsibility will be maintaining complete transparency in the collection, accounting,g and auditing of donations. The officer will be expected to establish robust systems capable of preventing financial irregularities and ensuring accountability.
The successful candidate will supervise recruitment, training, and discipline of temple employees while coordinating with security agencies to strengthen safety arrangements across the temple premises.
In addition, the CEO will be entrusted with expanding public outreach by spreading awareness about temple activities and relevant government welfare initiatives among devotees and the wider public.

अयोध्या स्थित श्रीराम जन्मभूमि तीर्थ क्षेत्र ट्रस्ट ने मंदिर के प्रशासनिक ढांचे को नई दिशा देने की पहल करते हुए पहली बार मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी (सीईओ) की नियुक्ति की प्रक्रिया शुरू कर दी है।
हाल में सामने आए कथित चंदा गबन विवाद के बाद इस कदम को मंदिर प्रबंधन को अधिक पेशेवर, पारदर्शी और जवाबदेह बनाने की दिशा में महत्वपूर्ण पहल माना जा रहा है।
ट्रस्ट ने सोमवार को अपने आधिकारिक एक्स (पूर्व ट्विटर) अकाउंट पर भर्ती संबंधी सूचना जारी करते हुए इच्छुक अभ्यर्थियों से आवेदन आमंत्रित किए। आवेदन जमा करने की अंतिम तिथि 18 जुलाई निर्धारित की गई है।
जारी पात्रता मानकों के अनुसार अभ्यर्थी की आयु 50 से 70 वर्ष के बीच होनी चाहिए। उम्मीदवार के पास स्नातक की डिग्री के साथ किसी बड़े सार्वजनिक संस्थान, सरकारी विभाग, प्रतिष्ठित संगठन या कंपनी में कम से कम 20 वर्ष का वरिष्ठ प्रशासनिक अथवा प्रबंधकीय अनुभव होना आवश्यक है।
किसी प्रमुख मंदिर में मुख्य प्रशासनिक अधिकारी के रूप में कार्य करने वाले अभ्यर्थियों को वरीयता दी जाएगी।
ट्रस्ट ने स्पष्ट किया है कि आवेदक सक्रिय रूप से हिंदू धर्म का पालन करने वाला होना चाहिए। साथ ही भगवान श्रीराम का वैष्णव परंपरा से जुड़ा भक्त होने को अतिरिक्त योग्यता के रूप में देखा जाएगा।
चयनित उम्मीदवार को तीन वर्ष के अनुबंध पर नियुक्त किया जाएगा। सीईओ के रूप में वह राम मंदिर परिसर के समग्र प्रशासन, दैनिक संचालन और प्रबंधन की जिम्मेदारी संभालेगा। यह अधिकारी ट्रस्ट के मार्गदर्शन में कार्य करेगा और सीधे ट्रस्ट के महासचिव को अपनी रिपोर्ट प्रस्तुत करेगा।
यह नियुक्ति ऐसे समय की जा रही है जब हालिया चंदा विवाद के बाद ट्रस्ट के महासचिव चंपत राय और ट्रस्टी अनिल मिश्रा अपने पदों से इस्तीफा दे चुके हैं। फिलहाल ट्रस्टी कृष्ण मोहन अंतरिम महासचिव के रूप में दायित्व निभा रहे हैं।
राम मंदिर निर्माण समिति के अध्यक्ष नृपेंद्र मिश्र ने हाल ही में कहा था कि ट्रस्ट अब अपनी प्रशासनिक व्यवस्था को और अधिक मजबूत बनाने पर विशेष ध्यान दे रहा है।
उनके अनुसार हाल की घटनाओं ने यह स्पष्ट कर दिया है कि मंदिर प्रबंधन को इस प्रकार सुदृढ़ किया जाए ताकि भविष्य में इस तरह के आरोप दोबारा सामने न आएं।
चयन प्रक्रिया को निष्पक्ष और पारदर्शी बनाने के लिए ट्रस्ट ने तीन सदस्यीय स्क्रीनिंग समिति गठित की है, जिसका गठन 6 जुलाई को किया गया था।
इस समिति में सेवानिवृत्त न्यायाधीश प्रमोद कोहली, सेवानिवृत्त लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल विष्णुकांत चतुर्वेदी तथा पूर्व एनआईटी रायपुर अध्यक्ष सुरेश हवारे शामिल हैं।
समिति सभी आवेदनों की जांच कर योग्य उम्मीदवारों की सूची तैयार करेगी। अंतिम चयन तीन नामों के पैनल में से किया जाएगा।
हालांकि इस पद पर किसी महिला की नियुक्ति की संभावनाओं को लेकर चर्चाएं चल रही हैं, लेकिन ट्रस्ट ने इस संबंध में कोई आधिकारिक घोषणा नहीं की है।
भर्ती अधिसूचना में महिलाओं के आवेदन पर किसी प्रकार का प्रतिबंध भी नहीं लगाया गया है।
ट्रस्ट से जुड़े अधिकारियों का कहना है कि नया सीईओ राम मंदिर को विश्वस्तरीय तीर्थस्थल के रूप में विकसित करने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाएगा। उसका मुख्य उद्देश्य बेहतर प्रशासन, वित्तीय पारदर्शिता, जवाबदेही और श्रद्धालुओं को उच्च गुणवत्ता वाली सेवाएं उपलब्ध कराना होगा।
सीईओ की प्रमुख जिम्मेदारियां
मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी मंदिर तथा उससे संबद्ध संस्थानों के प्रशासन, वित्तीय प्रबंधन और दैनिक संचालन की संपूर्ण निगरानी करेगा।
देश-विदेश से आने वाले श्रद्धालुओं के लिए सुचारु दर्शन व्यवस्था, प्रभावी भीड़ प्रबंधन और बेहतर सुविधाएं उपलब्ध कराना उसकी प्रमुख जिम्मेदारियों में शामिल होगा।
सीईओ मंदिर निर्माण समिति के साथ समन्वय स्थापित करते हुए स्मारक परिसर, परिधि दीवार, सभागार तथा प्रस्तावित राम कथा संग्रहालय जैसी निर्माण परियोजनाओं की प्रगति पर भी नियमित नजर रखेगा।
मंदिर में प्राप्त होने वाले दान की वसूली, लेखांकन और ऑडिट प्रक्रिया को पूरी तरह पारदर्शी बनाना भी उसकी अहम जिम्मेदारी होगी। इसके लिए वित्तीय अनियमितताओं की रोकथाम हेतु मजबूत निगरानी और नियंत्रण प्रणाली विकसित करनी होगी।
इसके अतिरिक्त मंदिर कर्मचारियों की नियुक्ति, प्रशिक्षण, अनुशासन और कार्यप्रणाली की देखरेख करने के साथ सुरक्षा एजेंसियों के समन्वय से पूरे परिसर की सुरक्षा व्यवस्था को और अधिक प्रभावी बनाना भी सीईओ के दायित्वों में शामिल रहेगा।
जनसंपर्क के क्षेत्र में भी यह पद महत्वपूर्ण होगा। सीईओ मंदिर की गतिविधियों के साथ-साथ सरकार की जनकल्याणकारी योजनाओं की जानकारी श्रद्धालुओं और आम जनता तक प्रभावी ढंग से पहुंचाने की दिशा में भी कार्य करेगा।
