PRAYAGRAJ: The Naini branch of St. Columbus Group of Schools witnessed a vibrant celebration of Sanskrit Week on Saturday, with students taking centre stage through a series of literary and cultural presentations in the ancient language.

The programme brought together students and teachers for an event aimed at highlighting the linguistic, cultural and historical significance of Sanskrit.

The celebrations opened with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp, followed by prayers dedicated to Goddess Saraswati, the Hindu deity associated with knowledge and learning.

School Principal Mrs. Shalini Srivastava presided over the programme.

In her address, she emphasised the importance of keeping Sanskrit connected with contemporary education while helping young students understand its links with India’s cultural heritage.

She described Sanskrit as an ancient and highly systematic language and said that studying it allows students to develop a deeper understanding of India’s traditions and civilisation.

She also encouraged students to approach the language not merely as an academic subject but as an important part of the country’s intellectual and cultural legacy.

The programme featured a range of student activities designed to bring Sanskrit beyond the classroom.

Students participated in shloka recitation, speeches, essay presentations and cultural performances, giving the celebrations a combination of literary expression and artistic presentation.

The performances also provided students with an opportunity to demonstrate their confidence in speaking and presenting before an audience.

Through the various activities, the participants highlighted different aspects of Sanskrit while adding a festive and engaging character to the school event.

Among the students who participated enthusiastically were Shagun Dwivedi, Shambhavi Shukla, Aarushi Pandey, Manya Dwivedi, Ashok Tripathi, Vidhi Shukla, Palak Patel, Swati Mishra, Kriti Sharma, Raksha Yadav, Ilma Bano, Ashish Singh, Aarti Tripathi, Srishti Pandey and Shanvi Shukla.

The event was coordinated by Tanay Shekhar, Jitendra Yadav and Shivam Rai, whose efforts helped organise the different activities and presentations.

The celebrations also underscored the role schools can play in introducing younger generations to India’s classical languages and the traditions associated with them.

By combining recitation, public speaking, written expression and cultural performances, the programme gave students several avenues through which they could engage with Sanskrit.

Teachers of the school were present throughout the programme and encouraged the participating students.

Their presence added to the sense of collective involvement in the celebrations.

The Sanskrit Week programme concluded on a positive note, with the school community coming together to celebrate a language that continues to hold an important place in India’s literary, educational and cultural traditions.

प्रयागराज: सेंट कोलंबस ग्रुप ऑफ स्कूल्स की नैनी शाखा में शनिवार को संस्कृत सप्ताह का आयोजन उत्साह और उल्लास के साथ किया गया।

कार्यक्रम में विद्यार्थियों ने संस्कृत भाषा के प्रति अपनी रुचि और प्रतिभा को विभिन्न प्रस्तुतियों के माध्यम से सामने रखा। विद्यालय परिसर में आयोजित इस कार्यक्रम में शिक्षकों और विद्यार्थियों ने उत्साहपूर्वक भाग लिया।

कार्यक्रम की शुरुआत पारंपरिक दीप प्रज्ज्वलन के साथ हुई। इसके बाद मां सरस्वती की पूजा-अर्चना की गई।

ज्ञान और विद्या की देवी की वंदना के साथ शुरू हुए कार्यक्रम ने पूरे आयोजन को सांस्कृतिक और शैक्षणिक वातावरण प्रदान किया।

विद्यालय की प्रधानाचार्या श्रीमती शालिनी श्रीवास्तव ने कार्यक्रम की अध्यक्षता की।

उन्होंने विद्यार्थियों को संबोधित करते हुए संस्कृत के महत्व पर प्रकाश डाला और कहा कि यह भाषा भारतीय संस्कृति तथा सभ्यता को समझने का महत्वपूर्ण माध्यम है।

प्रधानाचार्या ने कहा कि संस्कृत को दुनिया की प्राचीन और वैज्ञानिक भाषाओं में महत्वपूर्ण स्थान प्राप्त है।

उनके अनुसार, इस भाषा का अध्ययन विद्यार्थियों को अपनी सांस्कृतिक जड़ों और देश की समृद्ध सभ्यतागत परंपरा से परिचित कराने में मदद करता है।

कार्यक्रम का मुख्य आकर्षण विद्यार्थियों की विविध प्रस्तुतियां रहीं। बच्चों ने संस्कृत में श्लोक पाठ, भाषण, निबंध प्रस्तुति तथा सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम प्रस्तुत किए।

इन प्रस्तुतियों के माध्यम से विद्यार्थियों ने न केवल भाषा के प्रति अपनी समझ दिखाई, बल्कि मंच पर अपने आत्मविश्वास और रचनात्मकता का भी प्रदर्शन किया।

श्लोक पाठ के दौरान विद्यार्थियों ने संस्कृत उच्चारण और प्रस्तुति कौशल का परिचय दिया।

भाषण और निबंध प्रस्तुतियों में उन्होंने भाषा के साहित्यिक तथा सांस्कृतिक पक्षों को सामने रखा। वहीं सांस्कृतिक प्रस्तुतियों ने पूरे आयोजन में उत्सव का रंग भर दिया।

कार्यक्रम में शगुन द्विवेदी, शांभवी शुक्ला, आरुषी पांडेय, मान्या द्विवेदी, अशोक त्रिपाठी, विधि शुक्ला, पलक पटेल, स्वाति मिश्रा, कृति शर्मा, रक्षा यादव, इल्मा बानो, आशीष सिंह, आरती त्रिपाठी, सृष्टि पांडेय और शन्वी शुक्ला सहित कई विद्यार्थियों ने उत्साहपूर्वक सहभागिता की।

कार्यक्रम के सफल संचालन और विभिन्न गतिविधियों के समन्वय में तनय शेखर, जितेंद्र यादव और शिवम राय की महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका रही।

उन्होंने कार्यक्रम की विभिन्न प्रस्तुतियों को व्यवस्थित करने और विद्यार्थियों को मंच प्रदान करने में सहयोग किया।

संस्कृत सप्ताह जैसे आयोजनों के जरिए विद्यार्थियों को भारतीय भाषायी और सांस्कृतिक विरासत से जोड़ने का प्रयास किया गया।

विद्यालय में आयोजित इस कार्यक्रम ने यह भी दिखाया कि पारंपरिक विषयों को रचनात्मक गतिविधियों के साथ जोड़कर विद्यार्थियों में उनके प्रति रुचि विकसित की जा सकती है।

कार्यक्रम के दौरान विद्यालय के सभी शिक्षक उपस्थित रहे और विद्यार्थियों का उत्साह बढ़ाया। शिक्षकों और विद्यार्थियों की सामूहिक भागीदारी ने आयोजन को सफल और जीवंत बनाने में योगदान दिया।

संस्कृत सप्ताह का यह आयोजन विद्यार्थियों के लिए सीखने के साथ अपनी प्रतिभा प्रदर्शित करने का अवसर भी बना।
