Sanskrit Week Celebrations Bring Ancient Language Alive at St Columbus School in Prayagraj
Rajapur branch students showcase Sanskrit skills through shlokas, mantra chanting and conversations.
Prayagraj: The timeless cadence of Sanskrit resonated through the Rajapur Branch of St Columbus Group of Schools as students came together to celebrate Sanskrit Week with enthusiasm and cultural pride.
The school organised a series of activities on August 27 and 29, giving students a platform to explore the language not merely as an academic subject but as an important part of India’s literary and cultural legacy.
The celebrations opened with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp and Saraswati Vandana.
Principal Mrs Madhulika Chaturvedi presided over the programme and encouraged students to participate wholeheartedly in the activities.
Students of Classes 9 to 11 took centre stage with a presentation featuring shloka recitation, followed by a discussion on the need to preserve and promote Sanskrit.
Prince, Priya, Rishabh, Muskan, Kajal, Srishti, Piyush, Vivek, Shaurya, Ansh, Abhinay and Ayush participated in the session, reflecting both preparation and confidence.
The younger participants from Classes 4 to 8 added colour to the celebrations with mantra chanting, Sanskrit conversations and shloka recitations.
Kavya, Janya, Azizul, Aditi, Shambhavi, Divyam, Adarsh, Shreyans, Nancy, Krishna, Shraddha, Komal, Shalini and Shruti impressed the gathering with their melodious voices and expressive performances.
The students’ presentations created an atmosphere of enthusiasm and appreciation for the language.
Their Sanskrit conversations, in particular, offered an engaging glimpse of how the ancient language can be introduced to children interactively and enjoyably.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal Madhulika Chaturvedi underlined the responsibility of the younger generation in carrying the language forward.
“Sanskrit is the soul of our culture; its preservation is the duty of all of us.”
She encouraged students to develop a deeper interest in Sanskrit and recognise its connection with India’s vast intellectual, literary and cultural traditions.
The programme was attended by Sanskrit teachers Priyanka Srivastava, Sarita Tripathi and Kalpana, along with coordinators Deepti Dey, Khushbu Singh, Neha Rai and Shraddha Mam.
Teachers from across the school were also present to encourage the participants.
The celebrations highlighted the school’s effort to make language learning more experiential and engaging.
Through recitation, conversation and cultural presentation, the students were able to discover Sanskrit beyond the confines of the classroom and celebrate its continuing relevance.
The two-day programme concluded amid appreciation for the students’ performances, with the celebrations leaving a strong message about the importance of preserving India’s linguistic and cultural heritage.

प्रयागराज: सेंट कोलंबस ग्रुप ऑफ स्कूल्स की राजापुर शाखा में संस्कृत सप्ताह के अवसर पर विद्यालय परिसर में भारतीय संस्कृति और भाषा की समृद्ध विरासत की झलक देखने को मिली।
27 और 29 अगस्त 2025 को आयोजित विभिन्न कार्यक्रमों में विद्यार्थियों ने संस्कृत के प्रति अपनी रुचि और प्रतिभा का प्रभावशाली प्रदर्शन किया।
कार्यक्रम का शुभारंभ दीप प्रज्ज्वलन और सरस्वती वंदना के साथ हुआ। विद्यालय की प्रधानाचार्या श्रीमती मधुलिका चतुर्वेदी ने कार्यक्रम की अध्यक्षता की और विद्यार्थियों का उत्साहवर्धन किया।
कक्षा 9 से 11 तक के विद्यार्थियों के लिए श्लोक पाठ के साथ संस्कृत भाषा के संरक्षण और उसके महत्व पर विशेष चर्चा आयोजित की गई।
विद्यार्थियों ने संस्कृत की साहित्यिक, बौद्धिक और सांस्कृतिक विरासत पर अपने विचार साझा किए।
इस अवसर पर प्रिंस, प्रिया, ऋषभ, मुस्कान, काजल, सृष्टि, पीयूष, विवेक, शौर्य, अंश, अभिनव और आयुष ने सक्रिय सहभागिता की।
वहीं कक्षा 4 से 8 के विद्यार्थियों ने भी अपनी प्रस्तुतियों से कार्यक्रम में उत्साह भर दिया।
बच्चों ने मंत्रोच्चार, संस्कृत संवाद और श्लोक पाठ प्रस्तुत किए। काव्या, जान्या, अज़ीजुल, अदिति, शांभवी, दिव्यम, आदर्श, श्रेयांश, नैन्सी, कृष्णा, श्रद्धा, कोमल, शालिनी और श्रुति ने मधुर एवं आत्मविश्वासपूर्ण प्रस्तुतियों से उपस्थित लोगों की सराहना प्राप्त की।
विद्यार्थियों के संस्कृत संवाद और श्लोक पाठ ने कार्यक्रम को विशेष रूप से रोचक बनाया।
प्रस्तुतियों के माध्यम से बच्चों ने यह भी दिखाया कि संस्कृत को केवल पाठ्यक्रम का विषय न मानकर संवाद और रचनात्मक गतिविधियों के जरिए भी सहजता से सीखा जा सकता है।
इस अवसर पर प्रधानाचार्या श्रीमती मधुलिका चतुर्वेदी ने संस्कृत के सांस्कृतिक महत्व पर प्रकाश डालते हुए कहा, “संस्कृत हमारी संस्कृति की आत्मा है, इसका संरक्षण हम सभी का कर्तव्य है।”
उन्होंने विद्यार्थियों से संस्कृत के प्रति निरंतर रुचि विकसित करने और भारतीय ज्ञान, साहित्य एवं परंपरा से इसके गहरे संबंध को समझने का आह्वान किया।
कार्यक्रम में संस्कृत शिक्षिकाएं प्रियंका श्रीवास्तव, सरिता त्रिपाठी और कल्पना के साथ समन्वयक दीप्ति डे, खुशबू सिंह, नेहा राय और श्रद्धा मैम उपस्थित रहीं।
विद्यालय के अन्य शिक्षक-शिक्षिकाओं ने भी कार्यक्रम में भाग लेकर विद्यार्थियों का उत्साह बढ़ाया।
संस्कृत सप्ताह के आयोजन ने विद्यार्थियों को कक्षा की पढ़ाई से अलग भाषा को सांस्कृतिक और रचनात्मक गतिविधियों के माध्यम से समझने का अवसर दिया।
श्लोक, मंत्रोच्चार और संवाद की प्रस्तुतियों ने विद्यालय में संस्कृत के प्रति उत्साह का वातावरण बनाया और भारतीय भाषायी विरासत को सहेजने का संदेश दिया।
दो दिवसीय आयोजन विद्यार्थियों की सराहनीय प्रस्तुतियों और संस्कृत भाषा के प्रति नई रुचि के साथ संपन्न हुआ।
