UP Government to Create Over 1.5 Lakh Jobs This Fiscal Year, CM Yogi Adityanath Announces Major Recruitment Drive
In a significant push to expand employment opportunities, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced that the state government will recruit more than 1.5 lakh candidates across various departments during the current financial year.
The announcement was made at the Lok Bhavan in Lucknow, where the Chief Minister personally handed over appointment letters to 357 junior drug analysts and 252 dental health professionals.
The event marked yet another step in the government’s ongoing effort to streamline public sector hiring and address unemployment in the state.
Highlighting the administration’s track record, Adityanath stated that over the past nine years, more than nine lakh government jobs have been provided in Uttar Pradesh.
He described this as an unprecedented achievement, emphasising that the recruitment process has been conducted in a transparent and efficient manner—something he claimed sets a benchmark for other states.
Looking ahead, the Chief Minister outlined an ambitious roadmap for the current year. The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission is expected to fill more than 32,000 vacancies.
The Education Service Selection Commission will oversee the recruitment of thousands of teachers, while the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission has been tasked with completing around 15,000 appointments.
In addition, recruitment for law enforcement and auxiliary services is already underway.
Examinations for approximately 45,000 posts, including Sub-Inspectors and Home Guards, have been conducted, with another 45,000 positions currently in the pipeline.
Adityanath also underscored the government’s strict stance on maintaining the integrity of recruitment processes.
He noted that a stringent law has been introduced to prevent malpractice and paper leaks.
Under this law, those found guilty of tampering with recruitment exams could face life imprisonment, along with the confiscation of their entire property.
Providing further context, the Chief Minister pointed out that out of the nine lakh jobs distributed so far, more than 2.2 lakh appointments were made in the police department alone.
He linked these recruitments to improved law and order in the state, asserting that Uttar Pradesh has become “riot-free and crime-free,” which in turn has helped attract greater investment.
In a sharp political remark, Adityanath contrasted the current system with what he described as the pre-2017 scenario, alleging that recruitment processes were once marred by nepotism and corruption.
He stressed that eliminating dishonest practices requires accountability at every level, beginning with those in positions of power.
Meanwhile, there is also fresh development regarding the much-awaited Review Officer (RO) and Assistant Review Officer (ARO) recruitment.
According to information shared through a Right to Information (RTI) response, the commission has received requisitions for 92 Review Officer posts and 267 Assistant Review Officer posts, taking the total to 359 vacancies.
Additional requisitions from other departments are still being processed.
This recruitment cycle comes after a gap of two years. The previous RO/ARO examination, held on July 25, 2025, saw a participation rate of 42.29 per cent, indicating sustained interest among aspirants despite the competitive nature of the process.
Overall, the state government’s latest announcement signals a renewed focus on employment generation, administrative transparency, and institutional reform—key areas that continue to shape Uttar Pradesh’s governance narrative.
