UP Plans ₹39.10-Crore Tourism Push for Prayagraj Division, Focus on Religious Heritage and Visitor Infrastructure
Uttar Pradesh has unveiled an ambitious roadmap to strengthen religious tourism and preserve its rich cultural legacy, with the state government proposing 25 development projects worth nearly ₹39.10 crore across Prayagraj Division.
Reviewing the initiatives on Friday at the Circuit House in Prayagraj, Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh said the government is committed to transforming major pilgrimage destinations while simultaneously upgrading visitor amenities and safeguarding the state’s historical and spiritual heritage.
The proposed development package covers 25 tourism schemes, including 15 projects in Prayagraj, six in Pratapgarh and four in Fatehpur.
Officials informed the meeting that the projects are aimed at enhancing infrastructure at important places of worship, improving facilities for visitors and creating a stronger identity for the region as a major destination for faith-based tourism.
The minister directed officials to ensure that every project is completed within the stipulated timeline without compromising quality.
Highlighting the government’s vision, Jaiveer Singh said tourism development should extend beyond the construction of physical infrastructure and must preserve the cultural and religious significance of every site while enriching the overall experience of visitors.
He instructed departments to complete all ongoing projects costing up to ₹1 crore by November, while projects valued at ₹1.5 crore should be finished within six months and those costing up to ₹2 crore within nine months.
Stressing accountability, he also called for closer coordination between elected representatives and implementing agencies.
Additional Chief Secretary, Tourism, Culture and Religious Affairs, Amrit Abhijat, emphasised continuous coordination among departments to ensure timely execution.
Prayagraj district received the highest attention during the review, with 15 tourism proposals examined in detail.
These include beautification and infrastructure enhancement at Sansari Mata Dham in Soraon, Mahaviran Dham in Phaphamau, Maa Jwalamukhi Temple in Karchana, Shri Narmadeshwar Shiv Temple in Prayagraj West and Sant Ravidas Temple in Prayagraj North.
Officials also reviewed the proposed ‘Parampara One Stop Centre for Tourism and Culture’, estimated to cost nearly ₹8 crore, which is planned as an integrated hub offering tourism services, cultural activities and visitor facilities under one roof.
Development of religious destinations in neighbouring districts also featured prominently during the meeting.
In Pratapgarh, proposals relating to Baba Ghuisarnath Dham, Swami Siddheshwar Ashram and Narsingh Dham Temple at Kunda, along with other prominent shrines, were reviewed.
Similarly, projects in Fatehpur covering Gayatri Temple at Jahanabad, Shri Ram Janaki Temple at Bindki, Shri Singhwahi Temple at Ayah Shah and Surya Temple at Khaga were discussed to strengthen pilgrimage infrastructure and improve facilities for devotees.
Protection and promotion of cultural heritage formed another major focus of the review. Officials assessed progress of ongoing projects, including the Nishadraj Guh Cultural Centre at Shringverpur, the Ramlila Complex at Jahanabad in Fatehpur, Khaga Ramlila Ground, Patti Ramlila Ground in Pratapgarh and the Kaushambi Museum at Manjhanpur.
Fresh proposals were also presented for conservation and tourism-oriented development of Rani Ka Talab at Phulpur, Pakka Talab in Prayagraj West, Mahdaha Ka Teela in Patti Assembly constituency, and Tularam Lake along with the Rasik Bihari Temple complex at Jahanabad.
Projects being implemented by the Religious Affairs Department also came under review. Progress of the Bhajan Sandhya Sthal, being developed at an estimated cost of ₹23.08 crore, was assessed.
In addition, officials discussed conservation and improvement plans for Gangoli Shivala in Prayagraj, Kumbheshwar Mahadev Temple at Jhunsi, Shiv Temple in Pratapgarh, Shiv Temple and lake at Muratganj in Kaushambi, Kaushambi Lake, and Amora Temple and Shiv Temple at Rewari Buzurg in Fatehpur.
The government expects these initiatives to significantly boost spiritual tourism across the region.
The meeting also reviewed the implementation status of tourism, cultural and religious affairs projects approved during the financial years 2024-25 and 2025-26.
Jaiveer Singh and Additional Chief Secretary Amrit Abhijat directed officials to undertake regular field inspections, maintain close monitoring of ongoing works and ensure that every project is completed within the prescribed schedule while maintaining the highest construction standards.
The review meeting was attended by Minister of State for Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development Krishna Paswan, Zila Panchayat Chairperson Dr V K Singh, Prayagraj Mayor Umesh Chandra Ganesh Kesarwani, MLC Dr K P Srivastava, MLAs Deepak Patel (Phulpur), Rajmani Kol (Koraon), Guru Prasad Maurya (Phaphamau), Harshvardhan Vajpayee (Prayagraj North), Piyush Ranjan Nishad (Karchana) and Pooja Pal (Chail), besides legislators from other districts of the division, senior public representatives, Additional Chief Secretary Amrit Abhijat, Divisional Commissioner Soumya Agarwal, District Magistrate Manish Kumar Verma, Chief Development Officer Harshika Singh, Tourism Officer Aparajita Singh and other senior officials of the Tourism and Culture Department.
प्रयागराज मंडल में ₹39.10 करोड़ की 25 पर्यटन परियोजनाओं को मिलेगी रफ्तार, धार्मिक पर्यटन और सांस्कृतिक विरासत पर योगी सरकार का बड़ा फोकस
उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार ने धार्मिक पर्यटन को नई ऊंचाइयों तक पहुंचाने और प्रदेश की सांस्कृतिक विरासत को संरक्षित करते हुए आधुनिक पर्यटन सुविधाओं का विस्तार करने की दिशा में बड़ा कदम उठाया है।
शुक्रवार को प्रयागराज स्थित सर्किट हाउस में आयोजित उच्चस्तरीय समीक्षा बैठक में पर्यटन एवं संस्कृति मंत्री जयवीर सिंह ने प्रयागराज मंडल की प्रस्तावित 25 पर्यटन परियोजनाओं की विस्तृत समीक्षा की।
लगभग 39.10 करोड़ रुपये की इन योजनाओं का उद्देश्य प्रमुख तीर्थस्थलों का समग्र विकास, सांस्कृतिक धरोहरों का संरक्षण तथा पर्यटकों को विश्वस्तरीय सुविधाएं उपलब्ध कराना है।
समीक्षा बैठक में बताया गया कि प्रस्तावित योजनाओं में प्रयागराज की 15, प्रतापगढ़ की छह तथा फतेहपुर की चार परियोजनाएं शामिल हैं।
इन सभी परियोजनाओं के माध्यम से धार्मिक स्थलों का आधारभूत विकास, श्रद्धालुओं एवं पर्यटकों के लिए बेहतर सुविधाओं का निर्माण तथा प्रयागराज मंडल को धार्मिक पर्यटन के प्रमुख केंद्र के रूप में विकसित करने की रणनीति पर विस्तार से चर्चा की गई।
मंत्री ने अधिकारियों को सभी कार्य निर्धारित समय सीमा के भीतर उच्च गुणवत्ता के साथ पूरा करने के निर्देश दिए।
बैठक को संबोधित करते हुए जयवीर सिंह ने कहा कि पर्यटन विकास केवल भवन निर्माण तक सीमित नहीं होना चाहिए, बल्कि प्रत्येक स्थल की धार्मिक, ऐतिहासिक और सांस्कृतिक पहचान को सुरक्षित रखते हुए आगंतुकों के अनुभव को अधिक समृद्ध बनाया जाना चाहिए।
उन्होंने निर्देश दिया कि एक करोड़ रुपये तक की सभी निर्माणाधीन परियोजनाएं नवंबर तक, डेढ़ करोड़ रुपये तक की परियोजनाएं छह माह में तथा दो करोड़ रुपये तक की योजनाएं नौ माह के भीतर हर हाल में पूरी की जाएं।
उन्होंने जनप्रतिनिधियों और कार्यदायी संस्थाओं के बीच प्रभावी समन्वय सुनिश्चित करने पर भी विशेष बल दिया। अपर मुख्य सचिव पर्यटन, संस्कृति एवं धर्मार्थ कार्य अमृत अभिजात ने भी विभागों के बीच नियमित तालमेल बनाए रखने पर जोर दिया।
प्रयागराज जिले से संबंधित सर्वाधिक 15 पर्यटन प्रस्तावों की बैठक में विस्तार से समीक्षा की गई। इनमें सोरांव स्थित संसारी माता धाम, फाफामऊ का महावीरन धाम, करछना का मां ज्वालामुखी मंदिर, प्रयागराज पश्चिम का श्री नर्मदेश्वर शिव मंदिर तथा प्रयागराज उत्तर का संत रविदास मंदिर शामिल हैं, जहां सौंदर्यीकरण और पर्यटक सुविधाओं के विस्तार की योजनाएं प्रस्तावित हैं।
इसके अतिरिक्त लगभग आठ करोड़ रुपये की लागत से विकसित किए जाने वाले ‘परंपरा वन स्टॉप सेंटर फॉर टूरिज्म एंड कल्चर’ की भी समीक्षा की गई, जिसे पर्यटन, संस्कृति और आगंतुक सेवाओं के एकीकृत केंद्र के रूप में विकसित किया जाएगा।
बैठक में प्रतापगढ़ और फतेहपुर के प्रमुख धार्मिक स्थलों के विकास पर भी विशेष ध्यान दिया गया। प्रतापगढ़ में बाबा घुइसरनाथ धाम, स्वामी सिद्धेश्वर आश्रम और कुंडा स्थित नरसिंह धाम मंदिर सहित छह प्रमुख परियोजनाओं पर चर्चा हुई।
वहीं फतेहपुर में जहानाबाद का गायत्री मंदिर, बिंदकी का श्रीराम जानकी मंदिर, अयाहशाह का श्री सिंहवाही मंदिर तथा खागा का सूर्य मंदिर पर्यटन विकास योजनाओं के केंद्र में रहे।
इन परियोजनाओं का उद्देश्य श्रद्धालुओं के लिए बेहतर सुविधाएं उपलब्ध कराना और धार्मिक पर्यटन को नई गति देना है।
सांस्कृतिक धरोहरों के संरक्षण को भी सरकार ने प्राथमिकता सूची में रखा है। समीक्षा के दौरान श्रृंगवेरपुर स्थित निषादराज गुह सांस्कृतिक केंद्र, फतेहपुर के जहानाबाद का रामलीला परिसर, खागा रामलीला मैदान, प्रतापगढ़ के पट्टी का रामलीला मैदान तथा मंझनपुर स्थित कौशांबी संग्रहालय की निर्माणाधीन परियोजनाओं की प्रगति का मूल्यांकन किया गया।
साथ ही फूलपुर का रानी का तालाब, प्रयागराज पश्चिम का पक्का तालाब, पट्टी क्षेत्र का महदाहा का टीला तथा जहानाबाद स्थित तुलाराम झील और रसिक बिहारी मंदिर परिसर के संरक्षण एवं पर्यटन विकास से जुड़े नए प्रस्ताव भी प्रस्तुत किए गए।
धर्मार्थ कार्य विभाग की योजनाओं की समीक्षा करते हुए लगभग 23.08 करोड़ रुपये की लागत से विकसित किए जा रहे भजन संध्या स्थल की प्रगति का आकलन किया गया।
इसके अतिरिक्त प्रयागराज के गंगोली शिवाला, झूंसी स्थित कुंभेश्वर महादेव मंदिर, प्रतापगढ़ का शिव मंदिर, कौशांबी के मूरतगंज स्थित शिव मंदिर एवं झील, कौशांबी झील तथा फतेहपुर के अमोरा मंदिर और रेवाड़ी बुजुर्ग स्थित शिव मंदिर के संरक्षण एवं विकास संबंधी प्रस्तावों पर भी विस्तार से विचार-विमर्श हुआ।
सरकार का मानना है कि इन योजनाओं से धार्मिक पर्यटन को व्यापक स्तर पर बढ़ावा मिलेगा।
बैठक के दौरान वित्तीय वर्ष 2024-25 और 2025-26 में स्वीकृत पर्यटन, संस्कृति एवं धर्मार्थ कार्य विभाग की निर्माणाधीन परियोजनाओं की प्रगति की भी समीक्षा की गई।
मंत्री जयवीर सिंह और अपर मुख्य सचिव अमृत अभिजात ने अधिकारियों को नियमित स्थलीय निरीक्षण, सतत निगरानी तथा निर्धारित समय-सीमा के भीतर सभी कार्य उच्च गुणवत्ता मानकों के अनुरूप पूर्ण कराने के निर्देश दिए।
समीक्षा बैठक में पशुधन एवं दुग्ध विकास राज्य मंत्री कृष्णा पासवान, जिला पंचायत अध्यक्ष डॉ. वी.के. सिंह, प्रयागराज के महापौर उमेश चंद्र गणेश केसरवानी, विधान परिषद सदस्य डॉ. के.पी. श्रीवास्तव, विधायक दीपक पटेल (फूलपुर), राजमणि कोल (कोरांव), गुरु प्रसाद मौर्य (फाफामऊ), हर्षवर्धन वाजपेयी (शहर उत्तर), पीयूष रंजन निषाद (करछना) तथा पूजा पाल (चायल) सहित मंडल के अन्य जनप्रतिनिधि उपस्थित रहे। बैठक में अपर मुख्य सचिव अमृत अभिजात, मंडलायुक्त सौम्या अग्रवाल, जिलाधिकारी मनीष कुमार वर्मा, मुख्य विकास अधिकारी हर्षिका सिंह, पर्यटन अधिकारी अपराजिता सिंह तथा पर्यटन एवं संस्कृति विभाग के वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों ने भी भाग लिया।
