Yogi Adityanath Highlights Improved Law and Order in Uttar Pradesh, Warns Against Disrupting Public Celebrations

Gonda: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday asserted that the state’s law-and-order situation has undergone a significant transformation since 2017.

Addressing a large public gathering in the Chakraut area of Karnailganj, he said that festivals and religious celebrations in the state were once frequently overshadowed by disturbances, insecurity, and acts of disruption, but that the situation has changed considerably over the past several years.

The Chief Minister stated that before 2017, incidents of unrest and disorder often surfaced ahead of major festivals and public events.

According to him, women and members of the business community frequently felt vulnerable, while individuals involved in criminal activities allegedly enjoyed political protection and patronage.

He further claimed that cultural and religious events, including Ramleela performances, often faced obstacles and interference, creating an atmosphere of uncertainty during festive occasions.

Referring to past incidents, Yogi Adityanath said there were occasions when idols of Goddess Durga were allegedly vandalized before immersion processions could take place.

He argued that such incidents reflected the breakdown of law and order that existed during previous administrations.

In contrast, he maintained that the current government has adopted a strict approach toward maintaining peace, ensuring security, and protecting religious and cultural traditions across the state.

Emphasizing his government’s zero-tolerance policy toward disorder, the Chief Minister issued a strong warning against anyone attempting to disrupt communal harmony or interfere with public celebrations.

He said that individuals who try to spoil the atmosphere of festivals or create disturbances would face stringent legal consequences.

Such actions, he remarked, would not only affect their present circumstances but could also have long-term repercussions on their future.

Before addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation for a series of development initiatives aimed at strengthening infrastructure and public services in the region.

During the event, he dedicated 262 development projects worth approximately ₹516 crore to the people of the Karnailganj and Katra Bazar Assembly constituencies.

The projects span multiple sectors and are expected to contribute to the area’s economic growth, connectivity, and overall development.

The public meeting witnessed the presence of residents, party workers, and public representatives, with the Chief Minister using the occasion to highlight both the government’s development agenda and its emphasis on maintaining law and order throughout Uttar Pradesh.
