Yogi Adityanath Unveils ₹569-Crore Projects in Sambhal, Makes Strong Remarks on Heritage, Law and Order
Sambhal/Amroha/Ghaziabad: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday combined a major development push with a sharp political message during his visit to Sambhal, where he inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for development projects worth ₹569 crore.
Addressing a public gathering, the Chief Minister said Sambhal would now move forward under the values of India’s cultural heritage, asserting that the city would no longer witness what he described as the “high-handedness of the Turks” and that the “orders of Harihar Temple” would prevail.
The Chief Minister’s remarks came against the backdrop of the ongoing legal dispute over the Shahi Jama Masjid in Sambhal.
Hindu litigants have claimed before the court that an ancient Harihar Temple, believed by them to have been built by Lord Vishwakarma, originally stood at the site before the mosque was constructed during the reign of Mughal emperor Babur in 1526.
The matter remains pending before the courts.
Recalling the situation before the BJP assumed office in Uttar Pradesh in 2017, Adityanath said Sambhal had become synonymous with fear and lawlessness.
Without naming any individual, he alleged that a person claiming descent from Babur frequently visited the district and insulted both residents and sections of the Muslim community.
Emphasising cultural identity, the Chief Minister said every person living in India must honour the country’s traditions, civilisation and values.
He asserted that “New India” had moved beyond what he described as a colonial or slave mindset and warned that any attempt to undermine the country’s faith or cultural heritage would invite a firm response.
Highlighting Sambhal’s religious significance, Adityanath described the district as the sacred land of Lord Vishnu.
Referring to historical events, he alleged that foreign invaders not only plundered wealth but also damaged religious and cultural institutions.
He claimed that the Harihar Temple was demolished around 500 years ago, while several pilgrimage sites and traditional wells were desecrated or encroached upon.
He further alleged that the events of that period also led to forced religious conversions.
Drawing a comparison with the past, the Chief Minister referred to the communal violence witnessed in Sambhal in 1978, saying the district had experienced prolonged unrest in earlier decades.
He claimed that Uttar Pradesh had remained free from major communal riots during the BJP government’s nine-year tenure and asserted that strict action against those involved in violence had strengthened law and order.
Adityanath also highlighted the district administration’s campaign against illegal encroachments, stating that nearly 10,000 acres of occupied land had been reclaimed.
Stressing the government’s resolve, he said modern land records and administrative systems would ensure that illegally occupied properties could be restored to their rightful owners and warned against future attempts to grab land.
Earlier in the day, the Chief Minister visited Amroha, where he inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 43 development projects worth ₹207 crore.
Addressing another public meeting, he said Uttar Pradesh had witnessed rapid progress in infrastructure, industrial investment and timely payment of sugarcane dues after 2017, while criticising previous governments for allegedly failing to deliver development.
The Chief Minister also alleged that religious processions and festivals, including the Kanwar Yatra, Durga Puja, Ram Navami and Janmashtami, had faced restrictions under earlier governments.
He claimed people were subjected to police action for raising religious slogans, contrasting those years with the present administration’s approach towards religious events.
Concluding his day-long tour, Adityanath travelled to Ghaziabad, where he reviewed development projects, law and order arrangements and preparations for the forthcoming Kanwar Yatra with public representatives from the Meerut division.
Officials briefed him on security measures, infrastructure improvements, and administrative preparedness for the annual pilgrimage.
संभल में ₹569 करोड़ की परियोजनाओं की सौगात, मुख्यमंत्री योगी ने विरासत, कानून व्यवस्था और विकास पर दिया बड़ा संदेश
संभल/अमरोहा/गाजियाबाद। उत्तर प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ ने शनिवार को संभल दौरे के दौरान 569 करोड़ रुपये की विकास परियोजनाओं का लोकार्पण और शिलान्यास किया।
इस अवसर पर आयोजित जनसभा में उन्होंने विकास के साथ सांस्कृतिक विरासत और कानून व्यवस्था पर जोर देते हुए कहा कि अब संभल में “तुर्क की तुर्कई” नहीं चलेगी और शहर में “हरिहर भगवान की मर्यादा और व्यवस्था” के अनुरूप कार्य होगा।
मुख्यमंत्री की यह टिप्पणी ऐसे समय आई है जब संभल स्थित शाही जामा मस्जिद को लेकर न्यायालय में विवाद विचाराधीन है।
हिंदू पक्ष का दावा है कि वर्तमान मस्जिद वाले स्थान पर पहले भगवान विष्णु को समर्पित प्राचीन हरिहर मंदिर था, जिसे उनकी मान्यता के अनुसार भगवान विश्वकर्मा ने निर्मित किया था और बाद में मुगल शासक बाबर के शासनकाल में वर्ष 1526 में उसे ध्वस्त कर मस्जिद का निर्माण कराया गया।
यह मामला फिलहाल न्यायालय में लंबित है।
अपने संबोधन में मुख्यमंत्री ने वर्ष 2017 से पहले की स्थिति का उल्लेख करते हुए कहा कि उस समय संभल का नाम भय और अराजकता से जोड़ा जाता था।
बिना किसी व्यक्ति का नाम लिए उन्होंने आरोप लगाया कि स्वयं को बाबर का वंशज बताने वाला एक व्यक्ति यहां आकर स्थानीय लोगों और मुस्लिम समाज का भी अपमान करता था।
भारत की सांस्कृतिक पहचान पर बल देते हुए योगी आदित्यनाथ ने कहा कि देश में रहने वाले प्रत्येक नागरिक का दायित्व है कि वह भारत की परंपराओं, संस्कृति और सभ्यता का सम्मान करे।
उन्होंने कहा कि “नया भारत” अब गुलामी की मानसिकता को स्वीकार नहीं करता और देश की आस्था या सांस्कृतिक विरासत के साथ खिलवाड़ करने वालों के प्रति कठोर रवैया अपनाया जाएगा।
संभल के ऐतिहासिक और धार्मिक महत्व का उल्लेख करते हुए मुख्यमंत्री ने इसे भगवान विष्णु की पावन भूमि बताया।
उन्होंने कहा कि विदेशी आक्रमणकारियों ने केवल धन-संपत्ति ही नहीं लूटी बल्कि धार्मिक स्थलों और सांस्कृतिक धरोहरों को भी नुकसान पहुंचाया।
उन्होंने दावा किया कि लगभग 500 वर्ष पूर्व हरिहर मंदिर को ध्वस्त किया गया, अनेक तीर्थस्थलों को अपवित्र किया गया तथा कई प्राचीन कुओं पर अतिक्रमण हुआ।
उन्होंने यह भी आरोप लगाया कि उसी कालखंड में कुछ लोगों का जबरन धर्म परिवर्तन भी कराया गया।
मुख्यमंत्री ने वर्ष 1978 के संभल दंगों का उल्लेख करते हुए कहा कि कभी यह जिला सांप्रदायिक हिंसा के लिए जाना जाता था, जबकि पिछले नौ वर्षों में प्रदेश में बड़े दंगे नहीं हुए।
उन्होंने कहा कि कानून व्यवस्था को मजबूत बनाने और उपद्रवियों के विरुद्ध कठोर कार्रवाई के कारण प्रदेश में शांति और सुरक्षा का वातावरण स्थापित हुआ है।
अवैध कब्जों के खिलाफ प्रशासन की कार्रवाई का जिक्र करते हुए उन्होंने कहा कि संभल में लगभग 10 हजार एकड़ भूमि को अतिक्रमण से मुक्त कराया गया है।
उन्होंने भरोसा दिलाया कि भूमि अभिलेखों को इस प्रकार सुरक्षित किया जा रहा है कि भविष्य में किसी की जमीन पर अवैध कब्जा होने पर सरकार उसे उसके वास्तविक मालिक को वापस दिलाने में सक्षम होगी। साथ ही उन्होंने अवैध कब्जा करने वालों को कड़ी चेतावनी भी दी।
इससे पहले मुख्यमंत्री ने अमरोहा में 207 करोड़ रुपये की लागत वाली 43 विकास परियोजनाओं का लोकार्पण और शिलान्यास किया।
वहां आयोजित कार्यक्रम में उन्होंने कहा कि वर्ष 2017 के बाद प्रदेश में आधारभूत संरचना, औद्योगिक निवेश और किसानों को गन्ना मूल्य भुगतान के क्षेत्र में उल्लेखनीय प्रगति हुई है तथा पूर्ववर्ती सरकारों पर विकास की उपेक्षा करने का आरोप लगाया।
मुख्यमंत्री ने यह भी कहा कि पहले कांवड़ यात्रा, दुर्गा पूजा, रामनवमी शोभायात्रा और श्रीकृष्ण जन्माष्टमी जैसे धार्मिक आयोजनों पर प्रतिबंध या बाधाएं लगाई जाती थीं।
उन्होंने दावा किया कि धार्मिक नारों के कारण लोगों पर लाठीचार्ज तक किया जाता था, जबकि वर्तमान सरकार ने आस्था से जुड़े आयोजनों को सुरक्षा और सुविधाएं उपलब्ध कराई हैं।
दिनभर के दौरे के अंतिम चरण में मुख्यमंत्री गाजियाबाद पहुंचे, जहां उन्होंने मेरठ मंडल के जनप्रतिनिधियों और अधिकारियों के साथ बैठक कर विकास कार्यों, कानून व्यवस्था तथा आगामी कांवड़ यात्रा की तैयारियों की समीक्षा की।
बैठक में सुरक्षा व्यवस्था, यातायात प्रबंधन और श्रद्धालुओं की सुविधाओं को लेकर विस्तृत चर्चा की गई।
