Youth hurls shoe at Swami Prasad Maurya

Agra : A youth hurled a shoe at Swami Prasad Maurya, the controversial political leader of Uttar Pradesh while he was addressing a political rally in Agra on Friday.

 

Formerly, a Samajwadi Party leader Maurya recently bid good bye to the party and formed his own wing Rashtriya Shoshit Samaj Party (RSSP).

He was speaking in support of party candidate Homat Singh Nishad at a political meeting organised at the temple of Mata Sati Mandir under Danki police station in Agra district.

The leader had a narrow escape as the shoe hurled at him with much force by the youth hit the public address system instead. In a quick reaction the youth was about to hurl the other shoe when alert security men grabbed him by the neck and whisked him away. The youth also waved a black cloth and shouted slogan against Swami Prasad Maurya while he was being taken away by police.

The intruder is said to be affiliated to a Hindu organisation.

Swami Prasad is upset with the BJP saying, the saffron party was trying to crush schedule castes (SC) schedule tribes ( ST) and Adivasis ( tribals) by lessening their quota in government jobs.

About a year ago Swami Prasad Maurya angered most Hindus following his controversial statement against the writer of Ramcharit Manas the holy scripture of the hindus, by Goswami Tulsi Das.

The leader had earlier held important portfolios in the Samajwadi Party government. Prior to this he was with Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP).
