Five persons including three insurgents died in violence that erupted after an operation was launched in the jungles against insurgency in trouble torn Manipur.
The killed insurgents were from the hilly area.
Violence was reported from Giribam area on Saturday.
According to police the incident took place five kilometres away from Imphal after insurgents entered a housrpe abd shot dead a man living alone.
After this violence erupted between two groups amid firing and explosions.
Sources said, drone attacks had been taking place in the area since the past one week after which the Manipur police and central security forces had launched operation against insurgents and destroyed three bunkers constructed by them.
