Frequent Power Cuts Continue to Trouble Residents Across Prayagraj
Prayagraj: Residents of several localities across the city are continuing to face severe inconvenience due to persistent electricity disruptions.
Areas including Kalyani Devi, Jail Road, Ishwarpur, and Katra-Nehru Nagar have witnessed repeated power outages, with electricity supply being interrupted 11 to 18 times within a span of 24 hours.
Power cuts have been particularly severe in areas such as George Town, Sohbatia Bagh, Hathi Godam, Masaran Market, Tiranga Chauraha, and Azad Nagar.
According to residents, electricity supply has been failing repeatedly from evening until late at night. Frequent tripping has also been reported from Purana Katra, Jawahar Square, Kacheri, Balson, Ashok Nagar, and Civil Lines, causing continuous inconvenience to consumers.
Similar conditions prevail in Bandi and Mehdauri localities. In the meantime, a transformer installed near Anurag Hotel reportedly caught fire. Electricity department staff and personnel from Vivekanand Feeder worked for nearly an hour to restore the situation and resume supply.
Consumers have complained that the problem has worsened due to constant tripping and repeated outages. The uninterrupted interruptions have also affected water supply in several neighbourhoods, adding to residents’ difficulties.
Officials of the electricity department said that the city’s power system is currently operating at full capacity, which has created issues in some areas. They added that teams are working to rectify technical faults and make necessary arrangements to ensure a stable electricity supply.
प्रयागराज: शहर के कई इलाकों के निवासी लगातार हो रही बिजली कटौती से भारी परेशानी झेल रहे हैं। कल्याणी देवी, जेल रोड, ईश्वरपुर और कटरा-नेहरू नगर समेत कई क्षेत्रों में बिजली आपूर्ति बार-बार बाधित हो रही है। इन इलाकों में पिछले 24 घंटों के भीतर 11 से 18 बार तक बिजली गुल होने की शिकायतें सामने आई हैं।
जॉर्ज टाउन, सोहबतियाबाग, हाथी गोदाम, मसरान मार्केट, तिरंगा चौराहा और आजाद नगर में स्थिति और अधिक गंभीर बनी हुई है। स्थानीय लोगों के अनुसार, शाम से लेकर देर रात तक कई बार बिजली चली जाती है। वहीं पुराना कटरा, जवाहर स्क्वायर, कचहरी, बलसन, अशोक नगर और सिविल लाइंस में भी लगातार ट्रिपिंग और बिजली आपूर्ति में व्यवधान से उपभोक्ताओं को परेशानी का सामना करना पड़ रहा है।
बांदी और मेहदौरी क्षेत्रों में भी ऐसी ही स्थिति बनी हुई है। इस बीच, अनुराग होटल के सामने स्थापित एक ट्रांसफॉर्मर में आग लगने की घटना सामने आई। बिजली विभाग की टीम और विवेकानंद फीडर के कर्मचारियों ने करीब एक घंटे की मशक्कत के बाद स्थिति को नियंत्रित कर बिजली आपूर्ति बहाल की।
उपभोक्ताओं का कहना है कि लगातार ट्रिपिंग और बार-बार होने वाली कटौती से उनकी समस्याएँ बढ़ गई हैं। बिजली संकट के कारण कई इलाकों में पेयजल आपूर्ति भी प्रभावित हुई है, जिससे लोगों की परेशानियाँ और बढ़ गई हैं।
बिजली विभाग के अधिकारियों के अनुसार, शहर की विद्युत व्यवस्था फिलहाल पूर्ण क्षमता पर संचालित हो रही है, जिसके कारण कुछ क्षेत्रों में समस्याएँ उत्पन्न हुई हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि तकनीकी खामियों को दूर करने और निर्बाध बिजली आपूर्ति सुनिश्चित करने के लिए आवश्यक कदम उठाए जा रहे हैं।
