PM Modi Assures Strict Action in NEET Paper Leak Case, Calls for Winning Students’ Trust and Stronger Exam Safeguards
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday defended the Centre’s response to the alleged NEET paper leak controversy, asserting that the government acted promptly after the irregularities came to light.
Stressing that the confidence of the country’s youth must be preserved, he urged public representatives to actively engage with students amid continuing protests demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
During a key meeting of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) Parliamentary Party held at Parliament, the Prime Minister is learnt to have emphasised the need for nationwide outreach programmes involving Members of Parliament to reassure students.
According to sources, he also reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring the toughest legal action against all those responsible for the alleged examination leak.
Briefing reporters after the meeting, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said the Prime Minister underlined the importance of establishing a foolproof examination system capable of preventing future paper leaks.
Leaders from across the NDA attended the meeting, where the issue of examination integrity figured prominently.
Rijiju said the Prime Minister reminded alliance leaders that the government had acted immediately after reports of the NEET paper leak surfaced.
According to him, 13 accused were arrested and sent to jail, while steps were simultaneously taken to protect the academic future of students by conducting the re-examination without delay and declaring the results promptly.
The Parliamentary Affairs Minister further stated that the Prime Minister favoured the strictest possible punishment for those allegedly involved in the paper leak network.
He said the government intended to secure the strongest legal representation to ensure exemplary punishment so that similar incidents could be effectively prevented in the future.
Highlighting the broader nature of the challenge, Rijiju said the Prime Minister stressed that examination-related irregularities cannot be viewed merely as the responsibility of individual states or the Union government.
Instead, he called for coordinated efforts involving all stakeholders to eliminate such malpractices from the education system.
According to Rijiju, the Prime Minister described the issue as one affecting the entire nation rather than a matter of political confrontation, emphasising that the future of young students should remain above partisan considerations.
Sources present at the meeting said the Prime Minister acknowledged that the controversy had caused anxiety among students.
However, he noted that the re-examination was organised swiftly and that the government had engaged experienced legal experts to pursue stringent action against those accused of involvement in the paper leak.
The Prime Minister also reportedly stressed that students should not suffer because of the alleged misconduct of a few individuals.
According to those present, he remarked that while misleading young people was easy, guiding them in the right direction required greater responsibility and sustained effort.
Sources further claimed that the Prime Minister suggested that certain groups were attempting to mislead students, an apparent reference to the Opposition’s criticism of the government’s handling of the issue.
He is learnt to have urged NDA MPs to strengthen their engagement with young people and reassure them that justice would be ensured.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment, the Prime Minister reportedly told the gathering that every effort would be made to protect students’ interests and that no injustice would be allowed against them.
He also assured that all those found guilty in the alleged paper leak case would face legal consequences.
The remarks came a day after thousands of demonstrators, led by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), marched towards Parliament on the opening day of the Monsoon Session demanding action against Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
As protesters attempted to move towards Parliament, Delhi Police intervened to stop the procession, leading to violent clashes.
According to official information, more than 200 people, including over 100 police personnel, sustained injuries during the confrontation as security forces used batons and tear gas to disperse the crowd and restore order in the national capital.
Following the violence, Delhi Police registered five First Information Reports (FIRs) and initiated an investigation to determine whether the unrest was part of a larger conspiracy aimed at disturbing peace and public order in the city.

नई दिल्ली: प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने मंगलवार को कथित नीट प्रश्नपत्र लीक मामले में केंद्र सरकार की कार्रवाई का बचाव करते हुए कहा कि जैसे ही अनियमितताओं की जानकारी मिली, सरकार ने तत्काल कदम उठाए।
उन्होंने इस बात पर विशेष जोर दिया कि देश के युवाओं का विश्वास बनाए रखना बेहद जरूरी है और जनप्रतिनिधियों से विद्यार्थियों के बीच जाकर संवाद स्थापित करने का आह्वान किया।
यह टिप्पणी ऐसे समय आई है जब केंद्रीय शिक्षा मंत्री धर्मेंद्र प्रधान के इस्तीफे की मांग को लेकर विरोध प्रदर्शन जारी हैं।
संसद परिसर में आयोजित राष्ट्रीय जनतांत्रिक गठबंधन (एनडीए) संसदीय दल की महत्वपूर्ण बैठक में प्रधानमंत्री ने, सूत्रों के अनुसार, सांसदों के माध्यम से देशभर में छात्रों तक पहुंचने और उन्हें आश्वस्त करने की आवश्यकता पर बल दिया।
उन्होंने यह भी दोहराया कि प्रश्नपत्र लीक प्रकरण में शामिल प्रत्येक व्यक्ति के खिलाफ कानून के तहत सबसे कठोर कार्रवाई सुनिश्चित की जाएगी।
बैठक के बाद मीडिया को जानकारी देते हुए केंद्रीय संसदीय कार्य मंत्री किरण रिजिजू ने बताया कि प्रधानमंत्री ने भविष्य में ऐसी घटनाओं की पुनरावृत्ति रोकने के लिए पूरी तरह सुरक्षित और मजबूत परीक्षा प्रणाली विकसित करने की आवश्यकता पर जोर दिया।
उन्होंने कहा कि बैठक में एनडीए के विभिन्न दलों के सांसद और वरिष्ठ नेता उपस्थित थे।
रिजिजू के अनुसार प्रधानमंत्री ने कहा कि जैसे ही नीट प्रश्नपत्र लीक की जानकारी सामने आई, सरकार ने तुरंत कार्रवाई शुरू कर दी।
उन्होंने बताया कि 13 आरोपियों को गिरफ्तार कर जेल भेजा गया, वहीं छात्रों के शैक्षणिक भविष्य को प्रभावित होने से बचाने के लिए शीघ्रता से पुनर्परीक्षा आयोजित की गई और उसके परिणाम भी बिना अनावश्यक विलंब के घोषित कर दिए गए।
केंद्रीय मंत्री ने बताया कि प्रधानमंत्री ने कथित पेपर लीक गिरोह से जुड़े आरोपियों को कड़ी से कड़ी सजा दिलाने की आवश्यकता पर भी जोर दिया।
उन्होंने कहा कि सरकार इस मामले में देश के सक्षम विधि विशेषज्ञों की मदद लेकर दोषियों को ऐसा दंड दिलाना चाहती है, जिससे भविष्य में कोई भी इस प्रकार का अपराध करने का साहस न कर सके।
रिजिजू ने कहा कि प्रधानमंत्री ने यह भी स्पष्ट किया कि परीक्षा संबंधी अनियमितताओं को केवल किसी राज्य या केंद्र सरकार का मुद्दा मानकर नहीं देखा जा सकता।
उनके अनुसार यह पूरे देश की साझा जिम्मेदारी है और ऐसी घटनाओं को रोकने के लिए सभी स्तरों पर समन्वित प्रयास आवश्यक हैं।
बैठक में मौजूद नेताओं के अनुसार प्रधानमंत्री ने कहा कि यह विषय राजनीति का नहीं, बल्कि देश के युवाओं के भविष्य का है।
उन्होंने इस बात पर बल दिया कि विद्यार्थियों के हितों से जुड़े मामलों को दलगत राजनीति से ऊपर रखकर देखा जाना चाहिए।
सूत्रों के मुताबिक प्रधानमंत्री ने स्वीकार किया कि इस विवाद से छात्रों को असुविधा और चिंता का सामना करना पड़ा।
हालांकि उन्होंने यह भी कहा कि सरकार ने पुनर्परीक्षा समय पर कराकर और दोषियों के खिलाफ मजबूत कानूनी कार्रवाई सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अनुभवी वकीलों को नियुक्त कर अपनी जिम्मेदारी निभाई है।
बैठक में प्रधानमंत्री ने कथित तौर पर कहा कि कुछ लोगों की गलत हरकतों का खामियाजा छात्रों को नहीं भुगतना चाहिए।
उन्होंने यह भी उल्लेख किया कि युवाओं को गुमराह करना आसान है, लेकिन उन्हें सही दिशा दिखाना कहीं अधिक कठिन और जिम्मेदारीपूर्ण कार्य है।
सूत्रों के अनुसार प्रधानमंत्री ने संकेत दिया कि कुछ समूह छात्रों को भ्रमित करने का प्रयास कर रहे हैं। उन्होंने एनडीए सांसदों से आग्रह किया कि वे युवाओं के बीच जाएं, उनका विश्वास जीतें और उन्हें भरोसा दिलाएं कि उनके साथ किसी प्रकार का अन्याय नहीं होने दिया जाएगा।
प्रधानमंत्री ने यह भी दोहराया कि सरकार छात्रों के हितों की रक्षा के लिए पूरी तरह प्रतिबद्ध है और कथित पेपर लीक मामले में दोषी पाए जाने वाले सभी लोगों के खिलाफ कानून के अनुसार कठोर कार्रवाई की जाएगी।
प्रधानमंत्री की यह टिप्पणी ऐसे समय आई है जब सोमवार को कॉकरोच जनता पार्टी (सीजेपी) के नेतृत्व में देशभर से पहुंचे हजारों प्रदर्शनकारियों ने संसद के मानसून सत्र के पहले दिन केंद्रीय शिक्षा मंत्री धर्मेंद्र प्रधान के इस्तीफे की मांग को लेकर संसद की ओर मार्च किया था।
प्रदर्शनकारियों को रोकने के प्रयास में दिल्ली पुलिस और भीड़ के बीच टकराव की स्थिति उत्पन्न हो गई।
आधिकारिक जानकारी के अनुसार इस झड़प में 200 से अधिक लोग, जिनमें 100 से ज्यादा पुलिसकर्मी भी शामिल हैं, घायल हुए। स्थिति को नियंत्रित करने के लिए पुलिस ने लाठीचार्ज किया और आंसू गैस के गोले भी छोड़े।
हिंसा की घटनाओं के बाद दिल्ली पुलिस ने पांच प्राथमिकी (एफआईआर) दर्ज कर जांच शुरू कर दी है।
पुलिस यह पता लगाने का प्रयास कर रही है कि कहीं यह घटनाक्रम राष्ट्रीय राजधानी में शांति और कानून-व्यवस्था को बाधित करने की किसी व्यापक साजिश का हिस्सा तो नहीं था।
