Police Tighten Noose Around Shaista Parveen, Reward Raised to ₹50,000 Ahead of UP Assembly Elections
Prayagraj: The search for Shaista Parveen, wife of slain mafia-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed, has intensified once again.
Police have increased the reward for her arrest from ₹50,000 and are making renewed efforts to trace her whereabouts.
Teams from the police, the Special Task Force (STF), and other investigative agencies are conducting coordinated operations, while senior officials are regularly reviewing the progress of the investigation.
Investigators have questioned several people linked to Shabista Parveen’s family in recent days.
Authorities are examining her previous locations, mobile phone records,s and individuals who may have remained in contact with her.
Officials believe these leads could provide crucial information about her current whereabouts.
Shabista Parveen has been absconding since April 2023, following the murder of Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf Ahmed.
A reward of ₹50,000 had already been announced for information leading to her arrest, but despite sustained search operations, law enforcement agencies have so far been unable to locate her.
Officials, however, maintain that they are continuously acting on intelligence inputs and fresh leads.
Sources said multiple police teams are working on different aspects of the investigation. Given the seriousness of the case, local police units have also been instructed to remain on high alert.
The probe is being carried out after carefully analysing every possible clue.
Police sources believe efforts to arrest Shabista Parveen have been stepped up ahead of the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.
The move is intended to strengthen the government’s law-and-order campaign, particularly in districts where anti-crime drives are being carried out on a large scale.
At the same time, investigators remain cautious and are avoiding concluding without concrete evidence.
Officials also said that proceedings to issue a lookout notice through Interpol have gathered pace. Necessary documents and legal formalities are being completed to move the process forward at the earliest.

प्रयागराज: माफिया से नेता बने दिवंगत अतीक अहमद की पत्नी शाइस्ता परवीन की तलाश एक बार फिर तेज कर दी गई है। उसकी गिरफ्तारी पर घोषित इनाम बढ़ाकर 50 हजार रुपये कर दिया गया है।
पुलिस, एसटीएफ और अन्य जांच एजेंसियों की संयुक्त टीमें लगातार संभावित ठिकानों पर छापेमारी कर रही हैं, जबकि वरिष्ठ अधिकारी पूरे अभियान की नियमित निगरानी कर रहे हैं।
जांच के दौरान शाइस्ता परवीन के परिवार और करीबी लोगों से जुड़े कई व्यक्तियों से पूछताछ की गई है। पुलिस उसके पुराने ठिकानों, मोबाइल फोन रिकॉर्ड और उन लोगों की भी जांच कर रही है, जिनके संपर्क में वह पहले रही हो सकती है।
अधिकारियों का मानना है कि इन सुरागों से उसकी लोकेशन का पता लगाने में महत्वपूर्ण मदद मिल सकती है।
अप्रैल 2023 में अतीक अहमद और उनके भाई अशरफ अहमद की हत्या के बाद से शाइस्ता परवीन फरार चल रही है। उसकी गिरफ्तारी कराने या उसके बारे में सूचना देने पर पहले ही 50 हजार रुपये का इनाम घोषित किया जा चुका था।
लगातार चल रहे तलाशी अभियान के बावजूद पुलिस अब तक उसे पकड़ने में सफल नहीं हो सकी है। हालांकि अधिकारियों का कहना है कि खुफिया सूचनाओं और नए इनपुट के आधार पर लगातार कार्रवाई जारी है।
सूत्रों के मुताबिक मामले की जांच के लिए कई पुलिस टीमें अलग-अलग स्तरों पर काम कर रही हैं। प्रकरण की गंभीरता को देखते हुए स्थानीय पुलिस इकाइयों को भी विशेष सतर्कता बरतने के निर्देश दिए गए हैं।
जांच एजेंसियां हर संभावित सुराग का गहन विश्लेषण कर आगे की कार्रवाई कर रही हैं।
पुलिस अधिकारियों का मानना है कि आगामी उत्तर प्रदेश विधानसभा चुनाव से पहले शाइस्ता परवीन की गिरफ्तारी को प्राथमिकता दी गई है।
इसी उद्देश्य से कानून-व्यवस्था को मजबूत करने और अपराधियों के खिलाफ चलाए जा रहे अभियान को और तेज किया गया है। हालांकि अधिकारी पर्याप्त साक्ष्य मिलने से पहले किसी भी निष्कर्ष पर पहुंचने से बच रहे हैं।
अधिकारियों ने यह भी बताया कि इंटरपोल के माध्यम से लुकआउट नोटिस जारी कराने की प्रक्रिया में तेजी लाई गई है। इसके लिए आवश्यक दस्तावेजों और कानूनी औपचारिकताओं को जल्द से जल्द पूरा किया जा रहा है, ताकि आगे की कार्रवाई समयबद्ध तरीके से की जा सके।
