Rewa Woman’s Suspicious Death: FIR Registered in Kaundhiyara Over Alleged Identity Concealment, Religious Conversion and Murder
Prayagraj/Rewa: The Prayagraj Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against the prime accused and several others in connection with the suspicious death of 20-year-old Goldi Saket, a resident of Rewa district in Madhya Pradesh.
The case has been filed at Kaundhiyara Police Station under multiple serious charges, including provisions related to alleged religious conversion.
Police have intensified their investigation and are conducting raids at various locations to apprehend the accused, who remain absconding.
According to the police, Sahil, his mother Kaushra and his sister Jugnu have been named in the FIR.
All three are currently on the run, and police teams are carrying out continuous searches at their suspected hideouts.
Family members of the deceased said Goldi Saket had been working at a biscuit factory in the Kaundhiyara area to support her family’s financial needs.
During her employment, she came into contact with Sahil Khan, a resident of Delta village, who also worked at the same factory.
Their acquaintance gradually developed into a romantic relationship.
The victim’s family has alleged that Sahil initially introduced himself as “Prince”, concealing his real identity.
They claim he later won Goldi’s trust by promising marriage. According to the complaint, when she eventually discovered his true identity, disputes began between the two.
The family further alleged that Sahil later persuaded her to travel to Prayagraj, where he took her to a mosque and solemnised their marriage through nikah.
The family has also alleged that after the marriage, Goldi was subjected to continuous mental and physical abuse. They claim she was frequently assaulted and harassed.
According to the allegations, Sahil ultimately hanged her in what the family describes as a planned act that led to her death.
The victim’s relatives further alleged that they were not informed about the circumstances surrounding her death promptly.
They claim that nearly 35 days later, her body was exhumed from the grave and cremated according to Hindu customs.
Following this, Goldi’s father approached Kaundhiyara Police Station and lodged a formal complaint, based on which the FIR was registered.
After news of the incident spread, workers and office-bearers of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) reached Kaundhiyara Police Station to express support for the bereaved family.
They staged a protest demanding the immediate arrest of the accused and strict legal action. The demonstration was led by VHP departmental minister Pradeep Lalamani Tiwari.
Former BJP district general secretary Bhagwati, Bajrang Sena state minister Kunwar Sumit Singh and several other members of social organisations were also present.
The family has alleged that Sahil first concealed his identity before marrying their daughter and later pressured her to convert her religion.
They also questioned why they were not informed promptly about Goldi’s death despite the suspicious circumstances surrounding the case.
Kaundhiyara Station House Officer Abdus Salam Khan confirmed that an FIR has been registered based on the family’s complaint under multiple sections, including those related to alleged religious conversion, and that further investigation is underway.
