Saharanpur to Host New ₹70 Crore Private Industrial Park Under UP’s Industrial Investment and Employment Promotion Policy-2022
In a major boost to Uttar Pradesh’s industrial development drive, a ₹70 crore private industrial park project in Saharanpur has received official approval from the scrutiny committee chaired by Mayur Maheshwari, the Chief Executive Officer of the Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA).
This strategic project is part of the state’s flagship Industrial Investment and Employment Promotion Policy-2022, which aims to encourage private sector participation and create job opportunities through infrastructure-driven growth.
The newly sanctioned industrial park will be developed with a comprehensive array of modern amenities and infrastructure designed to meet the needs of emerging businesses and industries.
According to an official statement released on Wednesday, the proposed industrial park will be developed with advanced infrastructure facilities, including well-laid internal roads, a stable power supply network, uninterrupted water supply systems, and dedicated green zones to support an eco-friendly industrial environment.
These infrastructural features are designed to provide a world-class setting for companies looking to set up operations in the region.
The industrial park will house 21 well-demarcated industrial plots, creating space for the establishment of a variety of industrial units, likely spanning sectors such as manufacturing, processing, logistics, and other allied services.
The presence of diverse industries within the park is expected to foster cross-sector collaboration and promote regional economic synergy.
One of the most impactful aspects of the project is its employment potential. It is estimated that the industrial park will generate direct and indirect employment opportunities for approximately 700 individuals, thereby contributing meaningfully to the socio-economic development of Saharanpur and nearby areas.
Direct employment would likely involve jobs within the operational units set up in the park, while indirect employment could be created through ancillary services such as transportation, maintenance, and supply chains.
Commenting on the approval and its broader implications, UPSIDA CEO Mayur Maheshwari expressed confidence in the policy’s ability to attract robust private sector investment and catalyze economic activity across the state.
“The Industrial Investment and Employment Promotion Policy-2022 has brought a renewed sense of momentum and direction to Uttar Pradesh’s industrial landscape,” he said.
He further emphasized the significance of the Saharanpur project in strengthening the local economy:
“This private industrial park will play a crucial role in uplifting the industrial ecosystem of Saharanpur by empowering local entrepreneurs, generating employment, and boosting production capabilities.
Moreover, it will position Uttar Pradesh more prominently as a preferred destination for industrial investment, not just for investors within the state, but also for those from adjoining regions.”
Maheshwari reiterated UPSIDA’s commitment to maintaining a transparent governance framework, business-friendly, and focused on employment generation, noting that the authority continues to work actively to simplify processes, facilitate clearances, and support private developers in realizing their industrial ambitions.
As Uttar Pradesh moves ahead with a development-driven agenda, projects like the Saharanpur industrial park symbolize the practical outcomes of proactive policy implementation.
With strong institutional support, forward-looking leadership, and private sector collaboration, the state is aiming to position itself as a major industrial hub in northern India, offering infrastructure, skilled manpower, and a conducive investment climate.
