Taking a tough step the Uttar Pradesh government has decided that no bail be given by courts in certain crimes.
The cabinet has approved a new ordinance that will disallow anticipatory bail to individuals accused of certain grave offences, including rape.
This is being billed as a landmark step with regard to safety of women and children.
This comes in line with several earlier steps taken by the Yogi Aditya Nath government in the recent past one after the other.
A draft of the Indian Civil Defence Code has been approved in the UP Cabinet. After the governor’s consent the notification will be issued by the home department.
This tough stance comes in the wake of zero tolerance policy with regard to security and safety of women and children in the state.
This is expected to increase feeling of security in women and children and also faith in law.
There was a time when women were so scared that they could not step out of their houses after sunset.
From chain snatching, molestation and rape they were being subjected to all kinds of men’s brutality.
But then there is a great shift from days bygone. Now women in every part if the state are venturing out of their homes even during night.
But now the noose has been further tightened.
