Delhi Police Bust Interstate Cyber Fraud Gang Six Arrested In Fake Cryptocurrency Investment Scam

New Delhi: Delhi Police have dismantled an interstate cyber fraud network allegedly involved in task-based online scams and fake cryptocurrency investment schemes with the arrest of six suspected members from Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.

Investigators said the syndicate is accused of duping a Delhi resident of ₹4.29 lakh after luring him with promises of lucrative commissions and high returns through a fraudulent crypto trading platform.

According to the investigation, the victim was first contacted by fraudsters who introduced themselves as representatives of a digital marketing company.

They initially assigned small promotional tasks and transferred modest commission payments to build trust before gradually persuading him to join another online group where he was encouraged to invest larger sums in promotional activities and bogus cryptocurrency trading.

Police said the accused allegedly displayed fabricated trading profits to convince the complainant that his investments were generating substantial returns.

The victim was repeatedly asked to transfer money through different UPI IDs and bank accounts.

When he later attempted to withdraw the amount, the fraudsters allegedly informed him that his trading account had been frozen and demanded additional payments for account reactivation and withdrawal processing.

After discovering that he had been deceived, the victim lodged a complaint on the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal. Based on the complaint, an e-FIR was registered in the Southwest district, and a detailed investigation was launched.

During the probe, investigators examined bank account details,s UPI transaction records, ds call detail records, ATM surveillance footage and other digital evidence to trace the movement of the defrauded money.

The financial trail eventually led police to different states where the alleged members of the racket were operating.

The investigation first reached Jaipur, where police arrested Suresh Kumar Yadav, who allegedly provided a mule bank account, and Pooran Mal Yadav, who is accused of facilitating the account’s operation.

Further examination of the money trail revealed that part of the withdrawn cash had been collected from ATMs in Indore,e leading to the arrest of Arshan Mohammad and Gufran Quereshi, hi who allegedly carried out the withdrawals.

Police later apprehended Abhijeet Patidar and Aryan Rathore, alleging that both helped arrange bank accounts used for receiving the fraudulently obtained funds.

During the operation, investigators recovered six mobile phones that allegedly contained incriminating conversations linked to the cyber fraud.

Delhi Police said the investigation is continuing to identify other members of the syndicate, establish the complete financial network,k and ascertain whether the accused were involved in additional cybercrime cases.

नई दिल्ली: दिल्ली पुलिस ने टास्क आधारित ऑनलाइन ठगी और फर्जी क्रिप्टोकरेंसी निवेश योजनाओं के जरिए लोगों को निशाना बनाने वाले एक अंतरराज्यीय साइबर गिरोह का पर्दाफाश करते हुए उसके छह कथित सदस्यों को राजस्थान और मध्य प्रदेश से गिरफ्तार किया है।

पुलिस के अनुसार आरोपियों ने एक दिल्ली निवासी को ऊंचे कमीशन और आकर्षक मुनाफे का झांसा देकर फर्जी क्रिप्टो ट्रेडिंग प्लेटफॉर्म के माध्यम से 4.29 लाख रुपये की ठगी की।

जांच में सामने आया कि पीड़ित से सबसे पहले ऐसे लोगों ने संपर्क किया जिन्होंने खुद को एक डिजिटल मार्केटिंग कंपनी का प्रतिनिधि बताया।

शुरुआत में उसे छोटे प्रचार कार्य दिए गए और भरोसा जीतने के लिए मामूली कमीशन भी दिया गया।

इसके बाद उसे एक अन्य ऑनलाइन समूह में जोड़कर अधिक रकम निवेश करने के लिए प्रेरित किया गया जहां उसे प्रचार गतिविधियों और कथित क्रिप्टो ट्रेडिंग के नाम पर लगातार पैसा लगाने के लिए तैयार किया गया।

पुलिस के मुताबिक आरोपियों ने निवेश पर भारी मुनाफा दिखाने के लिए फर्जी लाभ का विवरण तैयार किया और पीड़ित को विश्वास दिलाया कि उसकी रकम तेजी से बढ़ रही है।

इसके बाद उससे विभिन्न यूपीआई आईडी और बैंक खातों में बार-बार धनराशि जमा कराई गई।

जब उसने अपनी रकम निकालने की कोशिश की तो उसे बताया गया कि उसका ट्रेडिंग खाता फ्रीज कर दिया गया है और उसे दोबारा सक्रिय करने तथा निकासी की प्रक्रिया पूरी करने के लिए अतिरिक्त भुगतान करना होगा।

ठगी का एहसास होने के बाद पीड़ित ने राष्ट्रीय साइबर अपराध रिपोर्टिंग पोर्टल पर शिकायत दर्ज कराई। शिकायत के आधार पर दक्षिण पश्चिम जिले में ई एफआईआर दर्ज की गई जिसके बाद पुलिस ने विस्तृत जांच शुरू की।

जांच के दौरान पुलिस ने बैंक खातों का विवरण यूपीआई लेनदेन कॉल डिटेल रिकॉर्ड एटीएम सीसीटीवी फुटेज और अन्य डिजिटल साक्ष्यों का विश्लेषण किया।

वित्तीय लेनदेन की कड़ियां जोड़ते हुए जांच टीम विभिन्न राज्यों तक पहुंची जहां इस गिरोह के सक्रिय होने का पता चला।

जांच का पहला महत्वपूर्ण सुराग जयपुर में मिला जहां पुलिस ने कथित म्यूल बैंक खाता धारक सुरेश कुमार यादव और बैंक खाता उपलब्ध कराने के आरोपी पूरन मल यादव को गिरफ्तार किया।

इसके बाद जांच में पता चला कि ठगी की रकम का एक हिस्सा इंदौर के एटीएम से निकाला गया था।

इस आधार पर पुलिस ने अर्शान मोहम्मद और गुफरान कुरैशी को गिरफ्तार किया, जिन पर नकदी निकालने का आरोप है।

आगे की कार्रवाई में पुलिस ने अभिजीत पाटीदार और आर्यन राठौर को भी गिरफ्तार किया।

जांच एजेंसियों का आरोप है कि दोनों ने उन बैंक खातों की व्यवस्था कराने में भूमिका निभाई जिनका उपयोग ठगी की रकम प्राप्त करने के लिए किया गया था।

तलाशी के दौरान पुलिस ने छह मोबाइल फोन भी बरामद किए जिनमें साइबर ठगी से जुड़े कथित आपत्तिजनक चैट मिले हैं।

दिल्ली पुलिस का कहना है कि मामले की जांच अभी जारी है।

अधिकारी पूरे वित्तीय नेटवर्क की पड़ताल कर रहे हैं और यह भी पता लगाया जा रहा है कि आरोपियों का संबंध अन्य साइबर ठगी के मामलों से भी है या नहीं।
