“Five Killed in KMP Expressway Crash: Four UP Police Personnel, Civilian Die While En Route to Kidnapping Probe”

In a tragic road accident on Tuesday morning, four Uttar Pradesh Police personnel and a civilian lost their lives on the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway in Haryana’s Nuh district.

The police team, posted in Uttar Pradesh’s Jalaun district, was travelling to Jind in Haryana to investigate a kidnapping case.

What began as a routine journey for official duty ended in a devastating loss.

The deceased officers have been identified as Sub-Inspector Satyabhan Singh, Sub-Inspector Mohit Yadav, Constable Pradeep Kumar, and Constable Ashok Kumar.

The fifth victim, Amreek Singh, was a civilian complainant who was accompanying the police team in connection with the case.

The accident took place around 10:30 am near the Dhulawat toll plaza in the Tauru area. According to preliminary findings, the team was travelling in a Scorpio vehicle and had approached the stretch from Palwal.

While attempting to overtake another vehicle, the driver reportedly lost control, leading to a severe crash.

The impact of the collision was so intense that the vehicle was completely wrecked, leaving it mangled beyond recognition.

All five occupants were trapped inside and succumbed to their injuries on the spot.

Passersby quickly alerted authorities as traffic slowed along the busy expressway. Police and emergency rescue teams reached the scene and began a painstaking operation to retrieve the bodies.

Due to the extent of the damage, the rescue took considerable time, with teams struggling to cut through the twisted metal of the vehicle.

Eventually, the bodies were pulled out and sent to a nearby hospital for postmortem examinations.

Confirming the incident, Tauru police station SHO Sheeshram said that the team reached the spot shortly after receiving information and found that all five occupants had already died.

Authorities have initiated an investigation to reconstruct the sequence of events leading to the crash. Officials are also examining whether the involvement of another vehicle or additional factors contributed to the accident.

The incident has once again drawn attention to the dangers of high-speed travel on expressways in the region.

It also recalls a similarly tragic accident in December last year, when a Delhi-based couple died after being trapped for nearly eight hours inside their severely damaged WagonR on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway near Nuh.

Their vehicle had been hit from behind by an unidentified heavy vehicle.

The victims in that earlier case were identified as Laxmi Ram (42), a contractual labourer, and his wife Kusumlata (38).

They were returning home from Hindaun in Rajasthan’s Karauli district when the fatal accident occurred near Nowshera village around midnight.

Tuesday’s crash has left colleagues, families, and the wider community in shock, especially given that the victims were on duty, serving the law, when tragedy struck.
