Indian Armed Forces Ready for Any Future Challenge, Says Army Chief; Rajnath Singh Highlights Navy’s Role During Operation Sindoor
Pune: Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi has said that the Indian Armed Forces are fully prepared for any future security challenge, including a possible next phase of Operation Sindoor if circumstances demand it.
Addressing the media on the sidelines of the 150th Course Passing Out Parade at the National Defence Academy (NDA) in Pune on Saturday, the Army Chief emphasised that the military remains vigilant and operationally ready for all contingencies.

General Dwivedi noted that while active hostilities have currently subsided, the Army, Navy, and Air Force continue to strengthen their preparedness for emerging threats.
He stressed that India’s defence forces are not only focused on conventional battlefields but are also adapting to the evolving nature of warfare.
According to the Army Chief, future conflicts are unlikely to remain confined to land, sea, and air domains.
Instead, warfare is expected to increasingly extend into space and cyberspace, making military planning far more complex and technology-driven.
He added that modern warfare is becoming increasingly transparent, requiring military strategists and decision-makers to remain alert, agile, and prepared for rapidly changing scenarios.
Rajnath Singh Inaugurates Naval Shaurya Vatika in Lucknow
Lucknow: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath jointly inaugurated the Naval Shaurya Vatika memorial in Lucknow on Saturday, paying tribute to the courage and sacrifices of India’s naval personnel.
Speaking at the event, Rajnath Singh praised the armed forces for their outstanding performance during Operation Sindoor.
He highlighted the crucial role played by the Indian Navy, stating that naval forces maintained a strong presence in the Arabian Sea throughout the operation, reinforcing India’s strategic preparedness.
The Defence Minister also acknowledged the contribution of soldiers from Uttar Pradesh, noting that they have stood shoulder to shoulder in safeguarding the nation during every major conflict.
He said that strengthening defence infrastructure and technological capabilities remains a key priority, which is reflected in the establishment of Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) laboratories in Lucknow.
Referring again to Operation Sindoor, Rajnath Singh said the Indian Navy’s robust deployment in the Arabian Sea served as a powerful deterrent.
According to him, the Navy’s operational readiness effectively restricted the Pakistani Navy to its own ports, demonstrating India’s maritime strength and strategic dominance during the period.
The remarks from both the Army Chief and the Defence Minister underscore India’s continued focus on military modernisation, joint-force readiness, and preparedness for the increasingly complex security challenges of the future.
