MNNIT Launches Merit-cum-Means Scholarship Scheme, Top B.Tech Students to Receive Annual Financial Aid

Prayagraj: To encourage academically bright students from financially weaker backgrounds, Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT), Prayagraj, has introduced a Merit-cum-Means Scholarship Scheme.

Under the initiative, the top 10 students from the overall B. Tech merit list will receive a scholarship of ₹20,833 per month, amounting to ₹2.5 lakh annually.

According to the institute administration, the selection process for first-year B.Tech students will be based on their JEE Main scores.

For students in the second, third and fourth years, eligibility will depend on their academic performance, which will be evaluated through the Cumulative Performance Index (CPI).

The scholarship aims to reward consistent academic excellence while offering meaningful financial support.

At present, MNNIT offers B.Tech programmes in Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology and Production Engineering.

Nearly 5,000 students are currently enrolled across the four-year engineering courses.

The institute believes the scholarship will help deserving students focus more effectively on their studies and research by reducing financial pressure.

Officials also expect the initiative to motivate students to perform better academically and strengthen the institute’s culture of excellence by encouraging healthy competition among learners.

आर्थिक रूप से कमजोर लेकिन प्रतिभाशाली विद्यार्थियों को प्रोत्साहित करने के उद्देश्य से मोतीलाल नेहरू राष्ट्रीय प्रौद्योगिकी संस्थान (एमएनएनआईटी), प्रयागराज ने मेरिट-कम-मीन्स छात्रवृत्ति योजना शुरू की है। इस योजना के तहत बीटेक की समग्र मेरिट सूची में स्थान पाने वाले शीर्ष 10 विद्यार्थियों को 20,833 रुपये प्रतिमाह, यानी प्रतिवर्ष 2.5 लाख रुपये की छात्रवृत्ति प्रदान की जाएगी।

संस्थान प्रशासन के अनुसार, बीटेक प्रथम वर्ष के विद्यार्थियों का चयन जेईई मेन में प्राप्त अंकों के आधार पर किया जाएगा। वहीं द्वितीय, तृतीय और चतुर्थ वर्ष के छात्रों के लिए चयन का आधार उनका शैक्षणिक प्रदर्शन होगा, जिसका मूल्यांकन क्यूम्यूलेटिव परफॉर्मेंस इंडेक्स (सीपीआई) के माध्यम से किया जाएगा।

इस पहल का उद्देश्य उत्कृष्ट प्रदर्शन करने वाले विद्यार्थियों को सम्मानित करने के साथ-साथ उन्हें आर्थिक सहयोग उपलब्ध कराना है।

वर्तमान में एमएनएनआईटी में कंप्यूटर साइंस एवं इंजीनियरिंग, इलेक्ट्रिकल इंजीनियरिंग, इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स एवं संचार इंजीनियरिंग, मैकेनिकल इंजीनियरिंग, सिविल इंजीनियरिंग, केमिकल इंजीनियरिंग, बायोटेक्नोलॉजी तथा प्रोडक्शन इंजीनियरिंग सहित विभिन्न बीटेक पाठ्यक्रम संचालित हैं। इन चार वर्षीय इंजीनियरिंग कार्यक्रमों में लगभग पांच हजार विद्यार्थी अध्ययनरत हैं।

संस्थान का मानना है कि यह छात्रवृत्ति आर्थिक रूप से जरूरतमंद छात्रों को पढ़ाई और शोध गतिविधियों पर अधिक ध्यान केंद्रित करने में मदद करेगी। साथ ही वित्तीय चुनौतियों का बोझ कम होने से विद्यार्थियों का आत्मविश्वास बढ़ेगा।

अधिकारियों का कहना है कि यह योजना केवल शैक्षणिक उत्कृष्टता को बढ़ावा नहीं देगी, बल्कि प्रतिस्पर्धी माहौल में बेहतर प्रदर्शन के लिए विद्यार्थियों को भी प्रेरित करेगी, जिससे संस्थान की अकादमिक गुणवत्ता और मजबूत होने की उम्मीद है।
