Nagpur Woman Alleges Drugging, Sexual Assault, Blackmail and Forced Religious Conversion; Viral Video Emerges as Key Evidence
A disturbing case from Nagpur, Maharashtra, has come to light after a 24-year-old woman, said to be the wife of an IAF officer, has accused her former classmate of allegedly drugging and sexually assaulting her, recording obscene videos, extorting money, and pressuring her to convert her religion.
A viral video, which has now become a crucial piece of evidence in the case, has intensified public attention and prompted an extensive police investigation.
According to the woman’s complaint, her former classmate, Ayyaz Taj Madare (26), contacted her under the pretext of a property transaction.
Trusting him because of their prior acquaintance, she agreed to meet him.
She alleged that he subsequently administered an intoxicating substance to her, sexually assaulted her while she was unconscious, and secretly recorded videos and photographs of the incident.
Viral Video Captures Woman Pleading for Help
The case gained widespread attention after a video surfaced online showing the woman visibly distressed and repeatedly crying,
“Chhoro mujhe” (“Let me go”). In the footage, a man identified as Ayyaz allegedly holds her hands firmly while reciting religious verses and repeatedly blowing over her as she struggles to free herself.
The woman has claimed that she was later informed that she had undergone religious conversion and that an attempt was subsequently made to sexually assault her again.
The video has been submitted to investigators and is being treated as an important piece of evidence.
Police officials have confirmed that the footage was provided by the complainant along with her formal complaint.
Authorities said they are currently verifying the video’s authenticity and examining all related evidence.
Survivor Remained Silent Out of Fear
Although the alleged incidents took place more than a year ago, they only recently came to public notice.
According to police, the woman decided to approach authorities on June 13 after finally confiding in her husband about the ordeal.
Investigators said the complainant had remained silent for an extended period because she feared the consequences of disclosing the incidents, particularly as she was married.
However, she eventually gathered the courage to inform her husband and pursue legal action.
The woman’s husband serves in the Indian Air Force and is presently posted in another city. The complainant herself is engaged in the business of property dealing.
Allegations of Blackmail and Financial Extortion
According to the police complaint, the accused contacted the woman again in February 2025, claiming that he was interested in purchasing a plot of land. He allegedly called her to a hotel located on Wardha Road in Nagpur.
The woman alleged that she was served juice mixed with an intoxicating substance.
After she lost consciousness, she claimed that the accused sexually assaulted her and recorded explicit videos and photographs without her consent.
She further alleged that the accused later used the compromising material to blackmail her.
According to the complaint, he repeatedly subjected her to sexual exploitation and allegedly extorted ₹3.09 lakh from her over time.
Alleged Pressure to Convert Religion
The complainant has also alleged that she was repeatedly pressured to embrace Islam and was compelled to participate in various activities purportedly conducted in the name of religious rituals.
She claimed that in May, the accused took her to Kalmeshwar in Nagpur district, where she was introduced to Ameen Sheikh (30) and Hazrat Maulana, a resident of Tamia in Madhya Pradesh.
According to the complaint, the three allegedly took her to a secluded place where certain religious ceremonies were conducted.
They subsequently informed her that her religious conversion had been completed.
The woman further alleged that she was told she had been married to Ayyaz Madare and that another attempt was made to sexually assault her afterwards.
Two Arrested, Search Underway for Third Accused
Police have arrested Ayyaz Taj Madare and Ameen Sheikh in connection with the case. Meanwhile, law enforcement agencies have launched a search operation to locate the third accused, Hazrat Maulana, who remains absconding.
Authorities stated that the investigation is ongoing and that all allegations made by the complainant are being thoroughly examined.
Investigators are scrutinising the viral video, digital evidence, financial transactions and other material submitted by the survivor as they work to establish the sequence of events and determine the role of each accused.
The case has raised serious concerns about allegations of sexual violence, coercion, blackmail and religious pressure, with investigators continuing their efforts to uncover the full facts surrounding the incident.
