“Satna Horror: 11-Year-Old Killed, Body Hidden in Drum After Mother Refused Marriage Proposal, Neighbour Arrested”

A quiet neighbourhood in Satna has been left shaken by a crime that is as heartbreaking as it is disturbing — the killing of an 11-year-old boy, allegedly driven by anger and rejection.

Shivraj Rajak, known lovingly as Badal, was a Class 5 student whose life, by all accounts, revolved around school, home, and simple childhood routines.

On Monday, that life was brutally cut short inside his own house — a place that should have been the safest for him.

Police say the accused, 45-year-old Mathura Rajak, lived nearby and ran a small ironing shop. For years, he had allegedly been pressuring Shivraj’s mother, Asha, to marry him.

She had repeatedly refused. What might have been dismissed as harassment took a darker turn in the days leading up to the crime.

According to the family, there had been a confrontation just a day earlier. Asha had once again said no, and an argument broke out. Locals intervened, warning the man to stay away.

Investigators now believe that the public nature of that confrontation — and the rejection that came with it — may have triggered what followed.

The next morning began like any other. Asha left for work early, around 6 am. Shivraj stayed home.

His elder brother stepped out around 10 am, and his sister Sejal left soon after in search of work. For a brief window, the child was alone.

Police believe that this was when the accused entered the house, sometime around 10:30 am.

When the family returned later that day, something felt off. The house was locked from the outside, yet there were no signs of disturbance.

At first, there was confusion — each family member assumed Shivraj was with someone else. It was only after a few phone calls that the panic began to set in.

Asha noticed that the lights and fan inside were still on. Alarmed, she contacted the police.

When officers broke open the door, what they found inside was devastating. Bloodstains marked the bed and the walls.

Shivraj’s body was discovered concealed inside a blue plastic drum. His throat had been slit.

Forensic teams were called in immediately, and multiple police teams began tracking the suspect.

The accused had already fled, locking both his house and shop and switching off his phone. He was arrested the following evening.

A senior officer involved in the investigation described the scene as deeply disturbing, noting that the act appeared calculated and carried out with a sharp weapon.

For Asha, the loss is beyond words.

“That man had been pressuring me for marriage for a long time. I refused him,” she said, her voice carrying disbelief as much as grief. “I never imagined he would do something like this to my child.”

The tragedy has left the community in shock — not just because of the brutality of the crime, but because of how personal it was. A dispute that should never have crossed the boundary of consent ended in an irreversible loss.

As the investigation continues, the focus will remain on ensuring justice. But for one family, the days ahead will be about something far heavier — learning to live with a silence where a child’s laughter once filled their home.
