Vietnam Boat Tragedy: 15 Indian Tourists Killed as Speedboat Capsizes Near Phu Quoc, Rescue Operation Continues
A heartbreaking maritime accident off the coast of southern Vietnam has claimed the lives of at least 15 Indian tourists after a speedboat carrying a group of visitors overturned near the popular holiday destination of Phu Quoc Island on Saturday.
Rescue teams are continuing an extensive search operation as authorities work to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
According to Vietnamese officials, the vessel had 32 Indian tourists and four crew members on board when it capsized nearly 400 metres from Hon May Rut Ngoai Island, near Phu Quoc, Vietnam’s largest island and a major tourist attraction.
Several passengers were rescued and shifted to nearby hospitals, while emergency teams from the border guard, navy, and coast guard joined local responders in the rescue mission.
Initial reports suggest rough sea conditions, accompanied by strong winds and high waves, may have contributed to the accident.
However, investigators are examining all possible factors before concluding the cause of the disaster.
The Embassy of India in Vietnam described the incident as a deeply tragic development and confirmed that it is working closely with Vietnamese authorities.
The mission said rescue and relief operations are still underway and that the precise details of the accident are still being verified.

भारतीय पर्यटकों को लेकर जा रही एक स्पीडबोट समुद्र में पलट गई, जिसके बाद बड़े स्तर पर राहत एवं बचाव अभियान शुरू किया गया। स्थानीय प्रशासन अब भी लापता लोगों की तलाश में जुटा है और हादसे के कारणों की विस्तृत जांच की जा रही है।
वियतनामी अधिकारियों के अनुसार, नाव में 32 भारतीय पर्यटक और चार चालक दल के सदस्य सवार थे। यह हादसा फु क्वोक द्वीप के समीप स्थित होन मे रुट न्गोआई (Hon May Rut Ngoai) द्वीप से लगभग 400 मीटर की दूरी पर हुआ।
कई यात्रियों को सुरक्षित बाहर निकालकर अस्पताल पहुंचाया गया, जबकि नौसेना, तटरक्षक बल और सीमा सुरक्षा इकाइयों ने स्थानीय बचाव दलों के साथ मिलकर व्यापक अभियान चलाया।
