Queen Kangana Ranaut has opened up about the delay in the release of her latest movie, Emergency. The film, which was supposed to hit theatres on September 6, was postponed due to pending certification from the censor board. However, Emergencies have been censored with UA certificates by suggesting a few cuts.
Several Sikh outfits have also opposed the film’s release, claiming it presents the community in a negative light.
However, the actress was speaking at the News18 India Chaupal event on Monday in New Delhi, when she argued that only some people have an objection to her movie. She questioned those defending Bhindranwale and made a strong statement saying he was not a saint but a terrorist.
It is our history that has been intentionally hidden. We are not told about this. Bhale logo ka zamaana nahi hai,” Kangana said and then added, “My film is ready to be released. It has received certification from the censor board. 4 historians supervised our films. We have the proper documents. There is nothing wrong with my film. But some people call Bhindranwale a saint, revolutionary, or a leader. They threatened via pleas (to ban her film). I have also received threats. Previous governments have declared Khalistanis as terrorists. He was not a saint who was sitting in a temple with an AK47.”
